The Microwave does look quite decent though the southern eyewall is sort of not there at all...still looks like a solid category-1 to me!

If it weren't for Igor giving it shear problems, Julia would have probably been a major or at least very close to it.

That IR does look somewhat better Hurakan then it was before, IMO as I said in my last post it looks like a decent cat-1, so something between 70-75kts seems reasonable!

This CV season just keeps on giving doesn't it...biggest CV season since 1995 no doubts!

:uarrow: That image was the main factor for the cat 2 upgrade.

In IR looks pretty weird but in that microwave looks pretty good, looks can be deceiving. Julia is ugly outside but pretty inside.

I can not believe that Julia is making a run for major status... I think that major hurricane will be forecasted at 11 PM

Though I believe that a cat 3 is not out of question, I think that the NHC will go for 95 kt as maximum intensity and maybe some lines like "little change in intensity is expected for the next day or so".

At this rate, 2010 may set a record for major hurricanes...even if it doesn't get other records...
