Julia is really looking better, its really wrapped itself round with deep convection now and thats a good sign that this may well be a hurricane in the next 24hrs....

Yeah thats a very large convective region, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if this was 50-55kts right now, prbably strengthening at a decent clip....chance of a hurricane before 30W?

KWT, you brought the hurricane before 30W posibility. And I have a question for those who have the stats. When was the last hurricane that was classified east of 30W?

Hurricane Jeanne from 1998 became a hurricane at just 25.2W...that may well be close to a record I'd imagine actually...indeed it was a category 2 at 31W!
