Central Atlantic Wave a Threat?

#1 Postby Vortex » Sun Aug 17, 2003 4:56 pm

After studying the various models I'm increasingly more interested in the wave in the central atlantic. The Nogaps brings this system through the central lesser antilles. The 12z Gfs has been trending westward the last few runs with this system. It places this system just N of PR and moves in generally W to a postion just N of Hispanolia in 7 days. The Nogaps has this system about 100 miles S of Puerto Rico in 6 days. While it currently is elongated and not very organized this could change over the next several days. Interests in the Lesser Antilles and Puerto Rico should monitor this system closely.

Hello msbee, nice to have you join us for discussion about the tropics. I look forward to your posts. :)

This wave in the Atlantic will take some time, if and when it develops. A lot more going for this feature than others this year, one big factor being that it is after August 15th.
