Looks like a TS now on the Vis Loop. Nice deep convection over the center albeit displaced a tad to the west it still looks like it qualifies..

Weather you like his antics or not, he's one of the best in the country, if not the world in picking up on long range patterns.

I do enjoy listening to JB, but his landfall prediction is way off so far.

Only one storm in recorded history has reached the U.S. from Igor's current location (within 1 deg radius). That was the August 1893 hurricane that hit Savannah, GA. No storm struck the Caribbean from so far north. Odds of Igor striking land are very low. Most recurve well east of Bermuda, too. So Igor will most likely pass northeast of the Caribbean. And very likely, Igor will recurve east of Bermuda. But I'm not ready to 100% rule out an East U.S. Coast threat. Just about 98%.

Yeah I think that sums up the most realistic point of view, a pattern change is being attempted by the models but Igor and probably the storm after that will be fish food probably...

This will be a beautiful hurricane to track when it converts into that.

No doubts Igor is getting stronger, I'm guessing it won't want to let its previous I names down and thus will want to put on a good show I suppose Cycloneye!

Looks like a decent storm at the moment, probably won't take long to become a hurricane if it keeps the current presentation its got.

For Blown Away to answer question at the 92L thread.

http://forecast.weather.gov/product.php ... glossary=1

IGOR REGAINS TROPICAL STORM STATUS OVER THE FAR EASTERN ATLANTIC
OCEAN...CONTINUED TO MOVE WEST NEAR 16 MPH. PLEASE REFER TO LATEST
BULLETINS/UPDATES FROM THE NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER FOR MORE
INFORMATION ON THE FORECAST AND TRACK OF THIS SYSTEM AS IT IS
STILL ABOUT A WEEK OR SO AWAY FROM THE LOCAL AREA...AND THUS THERE
IS A LOT OF UNCERTAINTY IN THE FORECAST TRACK.
