How can you tell whether or not she has gained latitude with as elongated as she is becoming?

Looks to me like she is being sucked down a drain.

Her center of circulation is pretty visible on visual satellite loop, the 1915Z image doesn't show her moving any farther north than 16 degrees latitude. If shes south of the 01000z forecast point and maintaining circulation and convection, then I think she will survive her passage south of Earl. Just my opinion...but looks like that's a possibility. We should know in about another five hours or so...

Earl is looking like Pac Man and Fiona is the power pellet. Would Earl become a bit stronger by consuming the moisture from Fiona? It may sound like an odd question but I don't recall ever seeing a system eat another system...well at least on this scale.

If Fiona is sheared apart by Earl's outflow, will the LLC continue west into the carib and regenerate? Could this eventually become a carib or gom threat?

Short answer: no. The LLC would likely follow the low level flow around the east side of Earl and eventually into the circ of Earl itself.

She's already passed the 010000z forecast point looks to be a bit west of it now, and only a tad north of 16N. She's really hauling west..Atlantic wide view visual shows Earl east of track and there appears that there will be some separation between these storms before Fiona reaches her 010600 position...which I think she will arrive early at and south of it. She hit her previous forecast point about 3.5-4 hours early as best I can tell. This will mean a weaker Fiona, and a more westward Fiona, if she is maintaining her circulation when she reaches that way point.. After Earl moves further north look for Fiona's regeneration, and a possible threat to the Caribbean and Florida Straits...maybe even south Florida itself, but she's really moving on. I really do think this thing is going to make it BUT you never know....she could get sucked north and obliterated by Earl, at least that's what the NHC is banking on right now.

It doesnt appear that it will be a high wind event. Probably just heavy rain.

I'm not a pro though, probably best to get an answer from a pro met.

Ajc3 the radar range is 400kms ,and it arrives at 57,5°West and 20°N.If the center of circulation wqas fixed by Miami near 16,7N and 57,7N Aat 5pm;it should be visible on this radar...Perhaps it's only a broad low at this time???
