7pm and it just got really dark and hearing a lot of thunder. Checked radar... looks like it will be storming soon.

Edit about 2 minutes later: it's coming down in buckets! And sideways!

Another edit: .51" in 7 minutes - it's really coming down!
.71" in 10 min.

HA HA. Who you calling Rainhog??!! :D Apparently you have forgotten about my posts last year of all the rain skirting me and developing else where. This year has been very strange where the "western" part of The Woodlands has received more than the "eastern" part. It is only 10 miles from I-45 to my house and it is amazing how that makes a big difference. So far, I have received the most rain on the days with the lowest chances. I will take what I can get!

Finally had a good old fashioned summer rain here at the house. Gauge shows 0.29". Hopefully more later. Now that it is to my NW heading for Steve it is getting noisy too.

OOPS!!! I didn't realize my vibes were that strong. :cheesy: I had a total of ).76" of rain during August. I need more than the 0.31" we had yesterday, but that is a start. Hopefully you won't be calling me rainhog now.

Nah, I will refrain from the name calling as I received over 3" for August so my name may be justified. Hopefully we will get some rain Friday as the front approaches. Looks promising for now but if it sneaks in over night seems like we may not have as good of a chance.

I finally got a cooling shower this evening. It felt so good. Almost a hint of things to come... :cheesy:

All my moaning worked. Received 1.25" yesterday evening and looks like a good chance for more today. Bring on the brown patch!

Yep we had a whole 0.76" for August here at the house. We made up for it in less than an hour this morning with 1.75"! I hope we haven't reversed rain fortunes here. Looks like more to come today and hopefully we can spread it around instead of localized dumps like this one was.

Here at the office which is near I-45 in The Woodlands, it has been raining very hard since 8:30 and does not look like there will be much slacking up in the near future. Unfortunately there is no rain guage here but it has rained every day except Wednesday at this location and judging by puddling I would estimate at least 3" just this week.

The rain you guys get is phenomenal to me! It is hard to fathom multi-inch rains like that. It usually takes us 4 or 5 rains to get up to an inch over the span of weeks up here.

Especially S TX and to some extent SE TX are looking at some more heavy rainfall over the next 2 days or so with TS Hermine, possibly Hurricane Hermine by landfall, heading NNW in the GOM. Radar shows copious showers over the NW GOM and expanding in coverage, moving NW towards the coast. SE TX area may see amounts up to 3" or maybe a little more depending on Hermine's track.

Worrisome to see the heavy rain to our S and W shifting slowly E. SPC has our area of SE TX in a Slight Risk along with the Flood Watches and Tornado Watch. Looks like it could be a very busy day!
