Yep, direct hit. Sombrero Island should get an even more direct hit.

You live in Cape Cod, the chances of you being in a real hurricane are extremely small.

Cat 1 or Cat 2 winds. It wasn't the winds that whooped NO though, it was the flooding.

British virgin islands right in the crosshairs. A ton of members on this forum are being impacted by big bad earl. Hopefully everyone is ok.

The airport is on the southside of the island...I'm about 900ft up and it's definitely blowing harder than 17mph on the northside....of course it's always worse the higher up you go

Surprised to see Earl so close to PR this morning. I thought the recurve was supposed to happen sooner so it wouldn't be such an impact. Been busy at work, so it fell off of my "radar". But obviously, it is keenly being followed by San Juan's. Looks to still be going primarily westward or WNW at this time.
Is there a threat of PR landfall, or is it really expected to turn away before PR gets the outer bands? Looks like continued direction would clip or stay just offshore of the island.
I'm on a conference call with staff in PR in a few minutes actually...if they aren't evacuating/under watches/warnings that is.

Just chillax. You've got about 48 hours before you're *POSSIBLY* in the three day cone.

Today fill up your gas tank on all of your family's vehicles all the way. Top them off again on Wed. Tomorrow evening, if you're in the 3-day cone, I'd go do some grocery shopping for non-perishable goods, bottled water, batteries, propane, etc. I'd suggest taking care of this shopping immediately.

As for whether or not you need to evacuate will be left up to your local and state government.

Until you find yourself in the three day cone, just chill out some. You're not even in it yet which means we really can't give you any solid answers to your questions. At this point, the only question we can answer is "Do I need to be concerned?". The answer is Yes.

EDIT: I am sending you a PM - CapeCod.
