If it's as strong as forecast by then I wouldn't recommend being there to see it.

You're looking at Friday afternoon, maybe as late as late Friday night/early Saturday (wee hours).

My parents are in Falmouth, so I'm watching this real close too.

I'm supposed to be leaving for the Cape on Saturday - hopefully, should be all clear by then. But while I'm gone, my home could be in line for the next one.

Not yet. I'd wait for the forecast.

I'd also recommend following the advice of someone with more experience than me.

C = Circular, shape of the eye, and the number is how big it's in nautical miles. In Earl's case, it's getting smaller which helps it intensify

ok, so it has contracted down to 16. Wow! that means that St. Martin has gone through the edge of the eye since nearest approach of the center was 14 something miles.

i've always wanted to be in a hurricane like earl. i was in a hurricane in 2007, noel, but that didn't really count because it was extratropical when it made landfall. i mostly likely will not evacuate, perhaps there's a slight chance i might evacuate if there's a mandatory evacuation. when will there be a defenite track forecast?

East coast should remain vigilant, but not panic yet. It still may skirt the coastline and just be a huge rain maker with winds and swells as it turns out to sea.
