Re: ATL: 97L - Models
TVCN shows a west bend, it will be interesting to see what the NHC track looks like once 97L gets upgraded to TD. With Earl impacting the islands maybe the NHC is being patient upgrading 97L because they don't want to show the islands in another cone with Fiona, get's confusing and scary!

Still think Euro is too far west as wxman57 points out. Be interesting to see what some of the pro mets think instead of all this speculative babble that has been posted.

What do you consider to far west? The 00z EURO went as far west as the EGOM'er!

Havent even seen wxman post today about this! Lately, all of his posts have been about odds, trends, and climo anyway.

With the way the pro mets are treated around here, it's no wonder they aren't posting anymore. It's really sad with as active as things are that there has not been a pro-met thread started on anything since Danielle and no posts of consequence since Monday.
Some of the more prolific posters around here with their -removed- for ever strengthening canes and almost hostility for the contributions of promets have severely downgraded the utility of this site.
Disappointing.

Well the UKMET and GFS didn't. Both show recurve. Not sure what the NOGAPS does but that is for entertainment purposes only. HRWF and GFDL recurve too if I recall too. So we'll see.

Good point Duke! I wonder how much longer wxman57 will hang around here

I miss the input of the pro mets. It's one of the main reasons I came here. I would reckon they're pretty busy themselves with the tropics being active. Give them time, hopefully one or more of them will chime in on occasion. I like and respect wxman57 tremendously and I respect the other pro mets who chime in.
I notice a couple of pro mets (names in blue) currently online, Greg the met from Beaumont, and deltadog03.

The main reason pro mets aren't posting as much is because they are extremely busy. Dealing with two storms and an invest all at the same time will take up much if not all of there time. From my angle the mets are treated pretty well around here. Sure some people wish-cast and others don't agree with the mets but that is part of a weather board anywhere you go.

Re: ATL: 97L - Models
Some of our Pro Mets are rather busy at the moment with Earl and the close proximity to the Islands. I would not 'read' too much into the lack of posting today.

Re: ATL: 97L - Models
I can assure all of you that the moderators on this forum do all they can to keep the caliber of the discussions at a higher level. Like any Internet forum, Storm2K has a wide array of posters who vary in age, education, interests, and maturity.
If you folks see posts which you think go "over the line" in questioning a pro met, I encourage you to report it.
The good news is that our pro mets haven't gone anywhere, they're just choosing not to participate in discussions now. I'm sure you will see more activity as the situation merits.

I'm not a moderator but this thread is about 97L models not about the very appreciated pro mets.

Been lurking here for years. With this much activity, it used to be commonplace to see the promets spending hours talking with each other and us amateurs on these forums, especially during the high activity times.
Explaining this off by stating they are "busy" is ignoring the situation.
This is neither the time or the place to discuss it, and I won't mention it again but it warrants a look by those in charge of this site.

I honestly don't think that there is a problem. There have been quite of few new pro-mets that have joined our ranks this past year. We have some that are a part of the staff here at storm2k. There's a Tropical Analysis forum that is also available for all members to participate in, just not start any links.

they have real jobs Duke....some that their advice is relied upon to make multi-million dollar decisions...Oh they will chime in when the time is right....
Thanks ROCK.
97L isn't off of their radar - Danielle is leaving and Earl is threatening the islands and perhaps the EC. Those two demand more conversation now.
