Yeah is pretty bullish, but is possible. Think about it, the GFDL keeps it over water longer than most models. Plus, that water is like bath water, some spots with SSTs near 32C. If you match that up with favorable conditions you are bound to get some rapid intensification. Not saying that the 18z GFDL will verify, but is a possibility.

True. Hurricane Alicia in 1983 was like that. The tropics always have something under its sleeves. :double:

GFS doesn't do much with it. Upper levels show low pressure following, tailing off through the BOC. It's not impressed.

I don't want to get scolded for one word answers, so I would have to say: yes.

Most likely... but a tropical storm still looks possible.

UKMET isn't impressed either, but if you run the rainfall rate overlay, you can kind of see the "shape". It's not much else (seizure warning). Bedtime.

In all seriousness though, you guys can't seriously see this going across Florida and moving due west through the entire GOM? That would be pretty rare, the model consensus doesn't see it.

Morgan City to Penscacola looking good right now.

Yes, because I'm leaving Thursday afternoon for my niece's wedding on Saturday in Houston. I'm hoping this is not the scenario that develops.

The GFDL has continued to be junk this whole year IMO...the EURO will be out here soon and maybe shead some light. It is by far doing well this year as is the CMC.

BTW- I have seen a TS race from FL to Mexico straight across the GOM.....its not unheard of.

IVAN II- did that as it moved off the AL coast and beared down on SE Texas only to have center relos closer to the LA coast.

I am watching it if that is what you mean.....really depends where the LLC sets up shop and where it crosses FL or in the GOM....

0z CMC does not do squat with 94L....closes it off for awhile on the other side of FL.....then loses it..
