Re: Just thought I would show you the next wave to fizzle
Don't count your fizzles before they fizz.
We're replacing the main portion of our lightning zapped transmitter today so I've looked at nothing since 14/0Z. However, up to that point, several models remained bullish on this wave emerging, closing off and going.
If memory serves, the GFS does recurve this system ~ 60 degrees (I think).
I'm not a CV honker but as always, it bears watching. Could be a plop-plop-fizz-fizz but one never knows.

Also to add what Scott said the CV season in it's peak begins tommorow until september 15th so we will eventually see developments from that region. If the globals are correct there will be CV action by the last days of this month.

This is a post by MWatkins on another board... I hope you dont mind Watkins, just wanted to share it with everyone..

Elsewhere...the 12Z GFS jumps on the CV wave coming off of Africa and develops a TS by day 3 that threatens the Islands by day 5. It REALLY likes the wave behind this one...but it also knocks down the Atlantic ridge and recurves them both before 65W in the extended range from 6-10 days...it's just plain silly to speculate on the 6-10 day period though.
This is the first time in a while that the GFS has jumped on a system and stayed with it...so things may finally be heating up in the deep tropics.
