Let's not forget that it is during the day (peak heating for NC falls between 1 and 4 usually), so of course the temperatures are going to go up! Especially if there is any breaks of sunshine.

convection coming back but the LLC is exposed to NW some....This has to be a depression at least....

so lets all start the definition of a depression debate!!! :lol:

Is it a depression? Yes.
Is it a tropical depression? No, it still looks cold core to my amateur eyes, a phase diagram would be helpful to confirm or deny this.

Let's hear(well read) more opinions.

Yep Stephanie, MHX was talking about that in their discussion.

As far as what this system is? It is not tropical, or even subtropical, in the least. There was no rise in temperatures due to this system, the rise was due to the clouds breaking and the sun coming out (got to 81 today at Hatteras per the link posted earlier http://www.weather.gov/data/obhistory/KHSE.html )...hardly anything "tropical".
