Conditions as of:
Wed, 30 Jun 2010 18:00:00 UTC

Winds: NE (40°) at 29.9 kt gusting to 33.0 kt
Air Temperature: 83.8 F
Water Temperature: 87.1 F

I'm down here on Galveston now and a decent squall went through again.

The waves are crashing against the seawall and it certainly looks like a storm is offshore.

Overall though, it's just not that bad and not much to write home about. The neatest thing is watching the clouds scoot by so fast but I saw that even at the house this morning up in Montgomery County...

Laguna Madre it is.

Mexico is lucky Yucatan is there as a speed brake.

Filtering out the dry air, developing a small eye, all the signs of going large if it had more water.

you know radar coupled with the two wind maxima sure do make a decent case for a ERC...although it does not seen to fit in the life cycle of Alex... its more lilke just the dry air thats doing it..

The inner donut and dry wall slot is very similar to Charley.

As long as it doesn't pull a Charley coming ashore...don't want it going from a Cat 2 to a Cat 4 in the last few hours...and there is history of that in that region, Celia in 1970 did exactly that (officially was a strong Cat 3 at landfall but probably was a Cat 4, and had been bombing out on approach).

well sort of.. its been consistently north of its previous tracks and is again north of the forecast track.. this of course will put Brownsville more and more into the strongest winds.. the eye may even skim the area if the current motion continues.. so even if it makes landfall in Mexico it wont matter because the worst will be in texas

Heading WNW now, but Brownsville should be experiencing near hurricane gusts and winds throughout the rest of the day.

Yep, the NW motion that occured for a while has done the damage even though Alex is now on a WNW heading again...Bro will indeed probably get hurricane force gusts.
