Yeah you're definitely right intense twave is an euphemisma yeah looking for the POOF TEST to see if it can passes the other tropicals hurddles (shear, sal, convection etc. ). We should keep our energy intact to track these nasty twaves as we're not even in August

I think so, but SST around Cabo Verde are not too high... I would even say that are quite cool... Perhaps not enough high for supporting or favoring the tropical development of that impressive wave. In that sense, GFS only shows a slowly development of the wave.

Impressive inland structure yes, candidate for next storm, probably not. It's still way too early and this one is going to be exiting too far north to even have a chance. The SST's may be above normal but not high enough to support development around Cape Verde. The SAL layer is very much present and the dry air will likely eat this one up as soon as it begins to exit the coast. The air around that area is far too stable. It's best to wait a month before looking towards Africa for development.

Based on that global shot of Africa, this seems to be the only wave over Africa at the moment. I would give it a real decent shot of developing to a depression at least, even if it heads northwest into open water.

This will probably throw out huge SAL levels and quieten everything down for early July a little, that circulation is really impressive though it has to be said...didn't Bertha in 2008 have something similar?

Having the EURO (Best Model) on board is significant as we have to pay close attention as this wave emerges Africa in the next couple of days. By the way,over me by July 6.

And look at that other system in the Caribbean, if it verifies it would be a rather active start of the season.
