Long time reader. Glad to finally be aboard. As an emergency responder, I am one of the nuts who stays or the last ones to leave.

Hello everyone,
I've been following this board for quite some time now, especially since Gustav. I figured the best way to make use of my time here is to actually become involved so here I am. I just want to say thank you for everyone for providing so much invaluable information that is so vital, especially to those who like me call New Orleans home.
I'm eager to try and learn some of the lingo associated with storms, t-waves, etc...so that hopefully one day I'll actually be able to sound knowledgable
Again, thank you to everyone and I look forward to participating on these boards!

So glad to be here. Actually, I'm a lurker from 2004. I was on the old TWC board before they shut it down. I appreciate all the information this board provides.

Hello, This is my 3rd hurricane season lurking. Lived all my life in South Jersey and we moved to Florida 2 1/2 years ago..I found all of your our first hurrican season, been learning from all of you, what a wonderful site..I am scared to death of a hurricane hitting us.. But the biggest thing down here in FL is the darn snakes around our home, but that is a whole different story and a different site..
Keep up the good work you all do on here, half the time I know when a wave is coming off Africa before the weather guys on our news stations do , all because of all of you..
Thanks for all you do..

BeaumontCookie... you're my neighbor.
Yep! You were on the old KFDM board, right? Didn't you use another name, though? I know there was a Skittles that was a weather nut like me. That's not you, is it? I can't even remember what name I used on the old board. Cookie was already taken here at Storm2k, so I added the Beaumont part.

Yep, it's me. I haven't posted there in a long time. I'm not a fan of FaceTime and I rarely go there anymore. I wish they would go back to the way it used to be.

Thanks for the invite. Been lurking here since 2004. Love all the discussion and knowledge here on S2K. Very enlightening and a great learning experience, especially the tropic discussion.

Oh, I've been here also since typhoons Ketsana and Parma battered our country. I am a full-pledged weather enthusiast (mainly on tropical cyclones ) and so when I came by this site, I was so delighted to see people who share the same interest with me. I thought I was wierd because I find tropical cyclone formation an interesting thing, though I am not delighted when the storm wreaks havoc somewhere. I am just fascinated on how they develop and turn into something big. At the same time, I can also alert the people nearby when a storm is approaching our area.
So I see many members from the US. I am also intrigued on how the storms in the Atlantic or East Pacific differ from the storms here in the Western Pacific. I am having a trip to California and Florida by the end of the year. It will be my pleasure to experience the gulf coast hurricanes out there. I will surely learn a lot from here, thanks to all met experts who answers a lot of questions.

Hi, I've just joined - thanks for the invite! I am a stormwater manager in central Florida so I'm very interested in rainfall amounts. I'll lurk for awhile until I can contribute something worthwhile.
