ETA honking on Invest 91L future.

#1 Postby Stormsfury » Mon Aug 11, 2003 12:25 pm

ETA develops Invest 91L south of Miami and moves west into the GOM. Further analysis shows the ULL which has plagued the east to retrograde westward towards TX as the Bermuda High retrogrades westward. The cut-off 500 mb that moves into TX may serve to enhance poleward outflow in the upper levels.

The GFS is seeing the cutoff 500mb low (mid/upper level feature). This is the 12z run at 48hrs with a cutoff over TX.

And it appears to have that cutoff continuing into the SW in 4 days ... I'm not quite so sure about the trough showing up in the NE though (FWIW).

ETA ..continues to honk on 91L but in the 00Z run brings it a little further north and not thru the Florida straits. At least we will have something to talk about the next few days it appears:):))
