GEM backed off a little on the thicknesses for Houston...may just take a drive northwest towards Magnolia/Navasota for Tue afternoon.

We may just get lucky on our side this time around. At least the trends are moving in the right direction. Hopefully we'll see more than this...

oh ok thanks! that sounds good and yes i do hope the precip shield nudges a bit further south so we can up those amounts by a few inches...but i will be very happy and thankful for 1-2 inches here!

I am watching both this Tuesdays and next weeks storms with great interest. Despite Wxman's post I am still somewhat optimistic for Houston N of I-10 for Tuesday evening(call it -removed- if you want). The 3rd storm (there are 3 total we are all looking at)up the pike looks interesting especially if it comes in further West and South than current progs. As late as it is in meteorological Winter in our area methinks we are not finished yet here in SE TX. To put it bluntly this has been one hell of a Winter here in SE TX compared to what we have been used to for the last 20 years.

Models mostly point at some flakes, the further south you are of I-20 the better your chances. I'd look forward later into the week and early next week for possible snow in DFW and Oklahoma.

Edit: Based on the GFS and EC, the third storm SG mentions has a very strong gradient with high pressure to the north. This is the type of system capable of producing blizzard warnings (just speculation), keep an eye on it.

It looks light for the DFW area. Won't be a white wonderland like last storm but we won't lose power either. Austin residents might be in the dark - if it looks like four or more inches get your flashlights ready.

Not likely, probably less than 20 percent chance given the current track. The 4+ inches should be in and around Waco.
