What exactly am I looking at here?

Epic cold, with freezing temperatures into Central Florida and probably single digits here(teens on the coast). Also showing snow flurries in the entire southeast including half of Florida down to Tampa/Orlando. It's a long way off and will probably change but I do see signs of something similar to that coming right before Christmas.

That part I had figured out. It's what it was forecasting or predicting that I couldn't figure out.

based on the models above your assumption is probably correct. Small possibility of winter precip in East areas of the toe of LA.

No chance of snow here along the MS GC for Christmas? JB on Accuweather said yesterday that this December could bring record cold temps to the deep south, almost as cold as what the region experienced back in 1970. How cold might it get here in my area this season? Lows into the teens? Many of the older houses here aren't built for lows in the single digits for extended periods of time, I know my 47 year old house isn't. I let my faucets drip everytime the lows are forecasted to hit the 20's and my house is built on a slab, not elevated with exposed pipes running under it like many of the much older homes still here that managed to survive Katrina.

It's just too far out right now to get specific about a certain day, I wouldn't rule it out but I wouldn't be getting my hopes either. Most of the time if it's record cold here it's very dry, but the pattern bears watching. All it takes is one storm with cold air in place, as we just saw in Houston last week.

It is not out of the realm of possibility that there could be snow along the MSGC for Christmas, but the models don't take us out that far yet. There could be and I emphasize COULD BE a possibility of a dusting in the days prior to Christmas(21st or 22nd). I say that after a quick glance and no in depth study. If the models do verify it does appear that the entire Gulf coast could have a very chilly Christmas with some possible what we consider extremely cold weather leading up to Christmas. As always when looking at any model that far out it is never anywhere near set in stone that any of it will happen, but it is definitely making me sit back a take notice!
