Summer’s Almost Over - Better Make The Most Of It

#1 Postby abajan » Mon Sep 21, 2009 6:39 am

Just a reminder that Autumn officially starts tomorrow at 5:18 p.m. EDT. So why not make the most of the last dregs of Summer by heading to the beach or for good measure, just go outside and stare at the sun :sun: (I’m kiddin’ - don’t ever do that).

Got on my riding mower and put the cutting deck down on level 2. Gave the lawn(s) a crew cut. Drained the gas tank. Pulled mower into storage and put the cover over it. Done deal.

Autumn plans......October 14....St Croix for a week. 8-)

I actually can't wait for Fall, it's been storming here EVERY single day so it's kinda hard to enjoy these last days of summer. :( I'm looking forward to that first major cold front of the season.

The arrival of Autumn sounds wonderful to me! I had to limit my outside time today, though -
between the soaking rain showers we've had for the past week and the saturated ground with
pools of standing water, the mosquitoes are horrendous (and they LOVE me)! Bring on the cool
temps - I'm ready for it.

Fall? We had a low of 36 the other night (with Watertown hitting 29 degrees) and highs in the 60's...I think fall's been here for a while!

I'm about ready to switch over from riding a road bike to a mountain bike for the colder weather. Barring a catastrophe, 2009 should become my best year ever. I just passed 1900 miles for the year so far.

I was at the Atlantis for the first day of Fall. It certainly didn't feel like it there and it's not feeling like it back at home.

We barely had a summer temperature wise, but I'm not complaining, and neither is the air conditioner. :)

I just spoke to my cousin in Chicago and he told me they had a very mild summer as well.

Pretty much none of the northern US east of the rockies had a warm summer. I think we hit 90 once here this summer (with a few more back in spring).

With a low temperature of 67, and 66 for a dew point in Jacksonville, by South Florida standards that is winter. We don't get there until Friday. Hot and dry is fine.
