and if you click on the region of the gulf you are interested in it will bring up the last 48 or so of temps in a loop for you.
Oh! And click on currents to see the loop current temps as well.

I see it looks like it has 29 to 32 degree water to work with all the way up to the coast. How deep does that water extend though?

It is the exact same conditions that blew Charley up from 95 kt to 130 kt in less than 3 hours.

Depends on how fast it moves. One met just said it appears to be speeding up. I will stick with my original prediction that this thing will be inland again in the next 18 hours or so, and will therefore (hopefully) not have enough time to organize into anything of huge concern....

Disclaimer - this is just my opinion..im not a pro met..

it was the big trough that blew up Charley. That was largely a QG enhancement

SAT images tonight do show a lot of good spin on this. It's good that it should be inland before it can ramp up though, seems to be on an organizing trend.

Actually looking at this closer, I think a depression could form out of this later tonight, maybe a minimal TS before making landfall. This kindaof popped out of nowhere it seemed.

But given the extremely windy conditions across Southern FL today, it seemed something was brewing near us.

Yeah, I knew that, just wondering where he/she heard it. I would have been surprised had it been a met or something. General consensus seems to be E GOM.

Only if it makes a right turn. If it does, expect considerable rain and wind. Otherwise it should stay to the west of you.

To be honest 91L looks better than Ana, no kidding. Of course 91L has got about 84-86F SSTs to work with and less dry air.

yes, and thats the thing.... if you have been in these things like i have, no matter what strength it maybe, a strengthening system coming ashore is certainly one that can cause some troubles... even if it makes to t.s. status, it may very well be on the up swing and there is a stark difference in the effects... just have to wait and see...
