A few people have commented on this this morning stjoe, but not in any detail. Not sure what to make of it just yet? Hoping some other pro's would chime in and help clear up what we're seeing. Of course everyone's paying attention farther out east so the responses are few and far between.

Me too...but I walked the dog early this morning, and smelled that smell...something brewing under me...just look at the radar, just south of Marathon...I'm sure I'm wrong...since I'm no pro-met...just love this as a hobby as I'm sure most of us do...However, it does seem to have some circulation going on, yes?

Sure is. Just not sure if its in the upper or mid levels and trying to work its way down to the surface or not. Its still early yet. Give it some time and im sure there will be a lot more comments on this later this morning

The areas south of Marathon are quite a distance from the radar site. In fact, I'd say it's near the outer range of the radar, so it isn't an accurate assesment of what's really happening at the surface. The radar beam gets higher the farther you go from the actual site of the radar. Looking at it from that perspective, it's sort of like a peek at the mid to upper levels rather than the surface.

It's a tropical wave that is running through SFA today. Don't worry Andrew's cousin Juana isn't showing up today. :cheesy:

Saw that and came in to post on it. I think it's the Hispaniola wave that hasn't quite gelled into a system but is trying to. Should get some needed rain from that to make up for this year's deficit.

Title should be "SE GOM Disturbance".

Which thread are we using for the disturbance near Key West...this or the one about Gulf Development next weekend? I think both are talking about the same system now

I say combine the thread I started early last week "possible development in gulf next weekend" and this thread into what somebody else said. Southeast Gulf Disturbance.
