Shear, shear, shear. Nothing new in 2009!
Fascinating; this time the shear is different... it is an easterly jet that is setting up, along with the outflow from the big disturbance forming to the east. This same pattern will likely help the big wave soon to be 90L to form. Ana is just unlucky enough to find itself as part of a larger overall wind pattern associated with the new big wave.

I guess the NHC is not putting to much weight in the GFS,GFDL, and Ukmet solutions, these models keep trending more W and S with each run.
