It's quite dramatic how everything's getting sheared away in that loop


Fascinating; this time the shear is different... it is an easterly jet that is setting up, along with the outflow from the big disturbance forming to the east. This same pattern will likely help the big wave soon to be 90L to form. Ana is just unlucky enough to find itself as part of a larger overall wind pattern associated with the new big wave.

It will official be at the 5 PM advisory.But ATCF best track raised the winds to 35 kts.

I guess the NHC is not putting to much weight in the GFS,GFDL, and Ukmet solutions, these models keep trending more W and S with each run.

If it qualifies (or qualified) as a tropical storm then upgrading is the right move, but I wonder how long Ana will be around.
