August is now here. Taking a look at the tropics this morning ....
It makes me think that the first storm will be closer to September 8th than August 8th. But I won't give up yet.

Interresting Cycloneye, but who are they?Could we have their names?
No,the names are not known as the members only vote at the options and thats it.

Gustywind, the only poll that has the names of the members and we can see who won or came close to the seasons numbers is the Storm2k forecast numbers poll.

No names of the six members that are still alive. But if any of them comes foward and reveals to the world that is one of the 6 left,it would be good to know them.

Re: When will the first named storm form in Atlantic Basin?
Do you suppose we can blame the inactive season on Global Warming? Everyone that didn't study hurricane history was quick to point to 2005 and make definitive statements that it was certainly and indisputably PROOF of Global Warming.
I'm glad meteorologists were not so quick to make such statements even though they caught much grief from their scientific colleagues for not making those ridiculous statements.
ps I'm not saying the light to non existent season is proof of the absence of GW, just that no single season is sufficient to make such outrageous claims.
