The drought just ended last month, and already, fresh water is being emptied to sea.

Fresh out of a severe drought that threatened a water crisis, the Army Corps of Engineers has begun draining the now-rising Lake Okeechobee, backup water supply for millions of South Floridians.

I just have to keep my typing fingers quiet about this so I don't get in trouble. To be real nice about it-THEIR IS A LOT HERE THAT JUST DOESN'T MAKE SENSE!! IMO MORE INFORMED DECISIONS COULD/SHOULD BE MADE.

I have the book about the 1928 hurricane in my 'reading room'.


Would the current levee system hold back a storm induced slosh on the lake from a major hurricane?


if the levees breached in a big way, besides the flooding in places like Belle Glade, what level would the lake fall to?
