Hard to tell from 24 hour time steps and low graphics resolution on freebie ECMWF site, and there is no apparent surface reflection, but is the inverted trough, slowly travelling West, and off Florida in a little over a week (at 500 mb level) my Blob?

This is actually the system that I think may have the best chance of developing over the next 2-3 days. Not a great chance, but better than anything else out there. Water's a bit cool there, though.

Seems to be rotating Southwest around the larger upper gyre, maybe towards better SSTs.

Shear under the upper low isn't really too bad. I know that isn't exactly the preferred location, but I still say this has a better shot at being a real (sub)tropical system than 98L
