Hehe, I just thought of something, isn't it funny how people who say that they don't think there will be much activity this year get stamped with the label "season cancel". Yet at the same time, those who say that they think it's going be really acitive, never get stamped with the label "season active"...I mean come on, what's up with that?

No storms this year, stick a fork in it, season cancel, on to 2010.

I had earlier picked July 15, so I'm toast.
With that east coast trough setting up, seems like any long tracker storms are going to be re-curving out to sea (like 2006). My season prediction of 10/5/2 also looking very unlikely ... looks more like 7/4/2.

Only 12 members from the 86 who voted are still alive.

Don't forget about the 1 October vote.

Maybe they thought it said April because it was the first poll option?

Too late -- it already formed:

apparently, there was a very short-lived TD or TS on the ITCZ within the past 24 hours (it has since weakened considerably)...

Wow, it's hard to believe we only have less than 2 weeks left in July and yet no signs of anything in the tropics. I expected at least a few strong waves by now. I do think that by the middle of August we will have something to look at, even if it is just a few strong waves.....There may still only be 1 or 2 months of activity though since it is starting sio late.

Looking at the ENSO models on that thread, 2010 could be an interesting season.
OK, nothing looks imminent, but the tropics do look a little more lifelike than 2 weeks ago.

I agree Ed. The activity has increased slightly. We'll have to wait and see if it stays tha way though. I'm still not expecting much the remainder of the month though.
