What are you watching this Spring?

My TV viewing is nearly at an all time low. I usually watch mostly late night TV but nothing much in prime time now. There is still nothing on CBS that I watch.
Hell's Kitchen last season seemed to be more scripted than ever before and not as good as the other seasons. But two more this year? I hope they distance the show from the latest season.
Finally about My Name is Earl, news of it coming back? Seriously, it's a horrible horrible show now, let it die! The start of the latest season was "ok" but was still not as good the previous seasons. After that though, it was falling off a cliff. The plot lines of the show are some of the worst I have ever seen in my life and I stopped watching it completely.

The only thing I watch on CBS is the local news as KFDM is my favorite, and I don't even watch that regularly. I do check their website often, though.
To answer the OP, I'm not really watching much this summer. Nothing in prime time, except sports or news... something I can put on and leave on while doing other things around the house. At the request of relatives, I watched Heroes Season 1 on DVD this past fall. I'm watching Seasons 2 and 3 online over the summer... an episode or two here and there. I'll watch Leverage when it returns to TNT in July. There's only been about a dozen or so episodes so far, but I really liked it, and look forward to its return.
I said I was going to catch up this summer on the gazillion movies I've recorded on DVR or bought on DVD yet haven't even opened, but I've only watched a couple of movies so far. Maybe I'll get a couple more in before fall. lol

Bought Paper Chase a couple of months ago and am looking forward to watching it (my son, entering his forth year of University, borrowed it and still hasn't watched it, so I borrowed it back). Guaranteed with the poor offerings now on t.v. I'll have watched it before he comes down in mid July.

Paper Chase is spectacular. You will love it. One of a long line of shows that were great, but got cancelled.
For anybody that has Netflix I recommend, "Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex." Yes, it is Anime. But, it really is a sophisticated crime/mystery drama masqurading as a Sci-Fi show. I just watched it a second time to pick up on the things I missed the first time. It is a well thought out drama that was planned out from the beginning as a long story. Think of it as a season long mini-series.

DanKellFla I did catch the movie and the beginnings of the t.v. series years ago but I must have been pretty young as I missed most of the t.v. production. I'm happy to read you think it's a pretty good series (would love to get my hands on the movie now).
I really liked seeing John Houseman again (loved his voice, and acting....my son says he has two profs like him).
Personally I'm tired of all the garbage that's out there now (we tend to watch the Discovery Channel and Outdoor Network).
Also picked up a Mary Tyler Moore DVD as well (and a few others I can't think of just yet...still too busy gardening but that will slow down soon).

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. - June 25, 2009 - NBC kicks off the Fall 2009 season on Monday, September 14 with the highly anticipated primetime debut of "The Jay Leno Show" (10-11 p.m. ET/9-10 p.m. CT), followed by the premiere of the network's marquee night of comedy on Thursday, September 17, as "Saturday Night Live Weekend Update Thursday" and new series "Community" join "Parks and Recreation" and Emmy winner "The Office."
NBC's dramas will premiere with a two-hour "Heroes" on Monday, September 21 (8-10 p.m. ET), the compelling family drama "Parenthood" premieres on Wednesday, September 23 (8-9 p.m. ET) leading into "Law & Order: SVU" (9-10 p.m. ET). The new high-octane "Trauma" will premiere the following Monday, September 28 (9-10 p.m. ET).
Emmy winner "30 Rock" returns to the Thursday comedy line-up on October 15 (9:30-10 p.m. ET).
In addition, "Saturday Night Live" returns for its 35th season on September 26 (11:30 p.m.-1:00 a.m.).
The announcement was made by Ben Silverman, Co-Chairman, NBC Entertainment and Universal Media Studios.
"NBC is proud to present more hours of comedy programming this fall than any other network with the 'The Jay Leno Show' each night at 10 p.m. and 'Community' joining the award-winning Thursday line-up," said Silverman. "We're also excited about adding two new dramas to our strong slate of quality returning shows."
"The Jay Leno Show," the first-ever entertainment program to be stripped across primetime on broadcast network television, launches on Monday, September 14 (10-11 p.m. ET) and will showcase many of the features that have made Leno America's late-night leader for more than a dozen years.
On Tuesday, September 15 (8-10 p.m.), "The Biggest Loser" returns with all new two-hour episodes, featuring more inspiration and real-life drama as this season's contestants challenge themselves to reach their weight-loss goals.
Thursday is comedy night on NBC with the only live comedy show between 8-10 p.m. on any network, "Saturday Night Live Weekend Update Thursday," kicking off the night (8-8:30 p.m. ET) beginning September 17, followed by "Parks and Recreation" (8:30-9 p.m. ET), "The Office" (9-9:30 p.m. ET) and new comedy "Community" (9:30-10 p.m. ET) from Emmy winners Joe and Anthony Russo ("Arrested Development"). "Community" focuses on a band of community college misfits, led by a fast-talking lawyer (Joel McHale, "The Soup"), who form a study group and end up learning more about themselves than their coursework.
On October 8, "Saturday Night Live Weekend Update Thursday" will exit the 8 p.m. slot and "Community" will shift to the earlier time period, followed by "Parks and Recreation" (8:30-9 p.m. ET). A one-hour episode of "The Office" will air from 9-10 p.m. ET.
On October 15, Emmy winner "30 Rock" will launch its fourth season in the show's regular slot on Thursdays, 9:30-10 p.m. ET.

The following Monday, September 28, "Heroes" will continue in its 8 p.m. time period followed by "Trauma" (9-10 p.m. ET), the new adrenalin-rush action drama from executive producer Peter Berg ("Friday Night Lights") that tracks a team of first-responder paramedics from San Francisco General as they face extreme conditions to save the lives of strangers and give meaning to their own in the process.
"Parenthood," from Imagine Entertainment's Ron Howard and Brian Grazer and writer/executive producer Jason Katims ("Friday Night Lights"), premieres on Wednesday, September 23 (8-9 p.m. ET). The series, which features an all-star cast including Peter Krause, Maura Tierney, Dax Shepard, Craig T. Nelson, Bonnie Bedelia, Monica Potter and Erika Christensen, tells the story of four grown siblings sharing the headaches, heartaches and unexpected joys of being a parent. Following "Parenthood" on Wednesdays is "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (9-10 p.m. ET), beginning its eleventh season on September 23.
Fridays, beginning September 25, the venerable "Law & Order" (8-9 p.m. ET) returns for a record 20th season, followed by the acclaimed drama "Southland" (9-10 p.m. ET).
Beginning September 26, Saturdays in primetime will be a showcase for "Dateline NBC" (8-9 p.m. ET) and encore presentations of "Trauma" (9-10 p.m. ET) and "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" (10-11 p.m. ET).

The only thing I'll watch this fall on a regular basis is NFL football - and I'll catch every
Titans game unless there's some kind of emergency!

That emergency will happen every weekend. It is called Houston Texans football, which gave birth to football in Tennessee in the first place.

Jay Leno opened big in prime time, drawing 17.7 million viewers and easily winning every demographic race. Of course, with Jerry Seinfeld and Kanye West as guests, millions of dollars spent on hype and light competition, it would've been hard for "The Jay Leno Show" not to score a big audience on his first night at 10.
Curiosity no doubt played a huge factor, as evidenced by the show's first half-hour, which drew just over 18 million viewers -- in the second half-hour, nearly a million viewers jumped ship. Leno also had a strong “America’s Got Talent” lead-in that averaged almost 15 million viewers.
One night's numbers does not a story make and while the early results will have NBC brass smiling and spinning (after all, Leno's numbers more than doubled what NBC averaged in the 10-11 p.m. hour last season), keep in mind that other than football on ESPN, the rest of the industry pretty much gave Leno a pass on Day 1.
The real challenge will be in the days and weeks ahead when he is squaring off against original programming and the novelty of a prime-time talk/variety show starts to fade. Once the viewers vote, it will be up to the bean counters at NBC to determine whether the bet pays off financially.
From a critical standpoint, little has changed for Leno from his days at 11:30 p.m. The critics who weren't fans of his then, obviously didn't suddenly become fans just because he is on 90 minutes earlier. At the same time, viewers who like Leno don't really care that he isn't the critics' choice. The good news for NBC is that there are more viewers around at 10 p.m. than there are at 11:30 p.m.
Leno's strong start no doubt also gave Conan O'Brien a late-night boost, although more detailed ratings information on late night won't be available until later today.
In Los Angeles, Leno delivered a 10.2 rating and 18 share on KNBC, crushing the competition and providing a huge lead-in for the station's 11 p.m. newscast, which scored a 7.1 rating and 16 share. That easily beat KABC, which usually dominates late news.

What a difference a year makes! I can only list what I would like to watch since my antenna won't pick up the signal enough anymore to make watching tv worth it.
