Is that for just the coastal areas (would put the US total at around $33-34 billion) or for all of the US? That would put the overall Ike damage total at about $33 billion if that is a comprehensive figure, or $38 billion if just a coastal figure.

He did say "total U.S damage" so I assume he means exactly what he said.

While there's obvious progress, there is still recovery from Ike and Rita here, perhaps even some from Humberto in certain areas. Who can tell which hurricane the damage comes from anymore?
