Tonight's Show is 100 Top iTunes Downloads -- spng spoilers later. . .

FYI:
‘Idol’ to bleed into Osbournes launch

Fox has expanded Tuesday night’s performance episode of “American Idol” to an hour and 25 minutes, bleeding heavily into the hour that was to have served as the launch pad for “Osbournes: Reloaded.”

“Osbournes: Reloaded” will now bow with a truncated, 35-minute premiere episode. Show, which puts the famously dysfunctional Osbournes clan in a variety TV setting, will now air from 9:25 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Episode was originally scheduled for an hour, but was trimmed to 40 minutes earlier this month. Revised schedule now takes another five minutes away from the already-truncated premiere

Does anyone really watch the Osbournes?

The Top iTunes downloads seems like a silly theme to me, but who knows... it might be good. When I first read someone say that was the theme, I thought they were kidding.

Apparently, Ryan has confirmed on Twitter that any song that has ever reached #1 on the Top 100 songs list of iTunes (since 2005) is eligible to be chosen. That should be a short list.

Megan goes first and sings a Lauryn Hill/Bob Marley song.
Allison goes second, "Don't Speak" by No Doubt.
Danny Gokey goes third, "What Hurts the Most" by Rascal Flatts.
Anoop goes fourth, "Caught Up" by Usher.
Scott goes fifth, 'Just the Way You Are" by Billy Joel.
Lil goes sixth, "Surrender"
Adam goes seventh, "Play that Funky Music" by Wild Cherry
Kris Allen goes eighth and sings "Ain't No Sunshine" by Bill Withers
Matt Giraud gets the pimp spot and sings "You Found Me" by The Fray

ETA: to edit song choices 10 minutes to go .... goes to wake D5 . . and hunt down Brent

Found D5 . . looking for Brent in chat *hint hint*

#1 Anoop . . usher . . . uhmmmm. .. don't really like it. . though I glad he dumped the UNC preppie look. .

#2 Megan -- *pleasemakeitstoppleasemakeitstoppleasemakeitstop*

*thwaps Brent for not coming to chat*

#3 Danny -- Rascal Flatts vibe, totally. . . messed up a verse, vocally, not lyric-wise (I've been asked to explain. . there was verse that made me cringe when he sang it. . it was wrong key, wrong note something . . I just cringed when I heard it) . . but not bad --- better than first two ... better than the last two weeks. . . but honestly not feeling the Danny-love

#4 Allison -- the outfit sucked but who cares . . . it was ok, better than Anoop

*sighs* D5 has gone MIA

#5 Scott -- ok, he's not going home . . . I think D5 would approve. . . :) I liked it . . best of night so far. . .

#6 Matt -- first part was rough. . . and there were parts that grated on my nerves. . .

#7 Lil -- my sister says she was off-key. . I didn't hear it but it sounded a bit screechy. . . at least she got a better stylist . . .. meh

#8 Adam, or as someone said Sanjaya with talent . . . since D5 isn't around, i'm using my sister for pithy comments. . . the only contestant with any originality . . . best of tonight *sorryScott*

#9 Kris - tonite's pimp spot . . . I loved this. . . I probably would buy this . . . fyi . . the sister is impressed, too. .

Adam
Kris

Scott

Danny/Lil

Matt/Allison

Anoop-Nice song but I was not impressed. Didn't sound special. I wish the audience would STFU and Paula's already making no sense.

Megan-Oh God. This was an awful boring and long-drawn out song and an absolutely horrific performance for the third week in a row. STFU audience! She has to go, this is unacceptable.

I'm probably not coming in chat til much later, a lot to watch after Idol tonight(and NOT the horrible Osbournes :P )

Danny-WOW, that was amazing. Now the show has begun.

Allison-First off, what is with that hair and outfit? It's distracting and hideous and I couldn't even tell how the singing was, lol

Scott-Best performance I've seen from him.

Matt-Pretty good.

Lil-Pretty good but she is NOT living up to the potential she had back in the top 36. Very disappointing in that aspect yet again.

Adam-Really good

Kris-Awesome!

Okay - Lil was FLAT, FLAT, FLAT!!! WTH? That was not a good performance and not a good song for her.

Adam - he should've already had a recording contract. There is no reason he should be on American Idol trying to break into the music business. He is SICK! Unfreakin' believable!!

Chris - I'm not crazy about the total arrangement (I'm very partial to the Bill Withers song), but still an excellent performance. Very impressive.

Anoop- uh, no. That was not good.
Megan-GOHOMEGOHOMEGOHOMEGOHOME!!!
Danny-Very good!!!probably one of tops tonight
Allison-Still amazing-ditch the crazy outfit!!! As stated-she doesn't need to dress the part. My first reaction tonight was she is another type of Kelly Clarkson(I think she will do as well as her). As has been said from the start-she is PURE RAW NATURAL TALENT!!!
Scott-He did the best he has done tonight! He'll be back
Matt-not impressed at all. bottom three??
Lil-danger, danger, danger!! She is getting worse and boring, not better.
Adam-WOW!!!WOW!!!!WOW!!! He continues to knock em dead. He is way beyond AI!!! He just needed a conduit to get his talent showcased.
Kris-Nicely done tonight. continues to impress.

Top 5 as of tonight-Adam, Allison, Danny, Matt, Kris

Bottom 3: Megan, Allison and Anoop according to DialIdol
but according to SG, it was really easy to for her daughter to get votes in for Matt, so I won't be surprised to see him go. . . .

These are three odd groups. I hate groups. I don't buy either 3 being the bottom three. Megan/Allison/Anoop are each in separate groups.

That's kind of what I was saying - He should've been "discovered" long before AI.

I like Allison too - the outfit, eh, but I thought the hair style suited her. ;)

Is it me or did Megan WANT to go home? I couldn't believe her attitude last night! It seems like she really missed her son and she wanted to be back with him.

I think Megan's attitude on her last night was in response to how the judges treated her. She may not have been the best but when the judges continually say negative things...why bother to put up an effort anymore. I felt bad for her when they didn't like her choice of song. She knows herself better than the judges and knows what type of music she likes and is comfortable with.

Personally, I don't see all the hoopla over Danny. Overated, way overated imo. Meh...he's boring to me.

Adam? He needs to decide who he's going to be. Emo? Elvis? I think people are going to get tired of his "over the topness". I couldn't stand his version of play that funky music. It's not a version you can have fun and dance to. I was on the adam bandwagon at the beginning but now i'm just sitting back and watching them all to see if someone else is going to emerge as the frontrunner.

You can see how the judges push their favorite even though the favorite isn't the best and unfortunately it probably influences some voters.

And Randy...quit with the dawg, dope & dude (or whatever the last d word he uses is. He gets muted in my house). What are you? DENSE?

I think they cut the judges intro because of time constraints, 8 people singing in 42 minutes, regardless, thankfully it's gone for now.

Danny-Pretty good but not overly impressed.

Kris-It was okay but not nearly as good as some of it's past songs.

Lil-Ouch. Should not sing Tina Turner!!!!!!!!! She is still not becoming her own artist and I think time is about up.

No lurkey. :P Too much to watch after Idol, sorry.

The fourth judge is really biting into time. They really don't need 4 judges.

I didn't hear Danny. Kris was good - I liked his take on "All She Wants to Do". Lil - *SIGH*, her range is all over. The only time she is good is when she is powering out the high notes. Her lower range is not in tune.

Anoop - VERY nice. Made it his own but didn't bastardize it.

Anoop-Really good for the first time in a long time.

Scott-Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!

Allison-Great, best of the night so far.

But overall, this show is pretty blah.
