The rumored change in voting this year:

As if this show hasn’t jumped the shark yet, this week will probably do in the Idol franchise. After adding in a top 13 with a different number because Idol didn’t plan ahead and think to buy 1-866-IDOLS-13, adding a fourth judge that says nothing interesting and hits on the contestants, changing the semifinal format to eliminate any contestant who has any bit of controversy, and announcing the judges as they walk in as if people care about them… apparently there is another twist. Rumor has it that the judges will be deciding who goes home out of the bottom 2 or 3. If Idol thinks its ratings are down now, just wait till they unleash that puppy.

one more thing. . . the judges' and producers' obvious pimping of Adam is getting annoying . . cut it out. .

I like the idea in a way... it will pretty much avoid another Sanjaya, but of course it comes with negatives too. I'm still rather blah about this season.

But, I do feel like the show has peaked with all these new things they are doing.

Mike Sarver didn't make the cut imo tonight. Adam is so full of himself he is sickening!!!!(not too sure he isn't trying to get kicked off so he can move on since he has gotten his exposure). Lil Rounds was not good tonight. Everyone else did well and Anoop was great!!Normally I'm usually more detailed but a little distraction called my granddaughter Emily has most of my attention tonight(yes even at this hour-she has colic).

Interestingly Alexis is in the rumored Final 4 out just yesterday. Will be interesting to see what happens tonight if she really is in the bottom 2.

DialIdol isn't always accurate, but they usually are. As far as Anoop goes, I think the reason he is so high is that he already has a large fan base (unlike some of the other contestants), so they kept him afloat through a few weeks of bad performances. Last night, he was great! So he has his fan base voting nonstop for him and then gets a lot of the casual viewers to vote for him and he shoots up.

I don't quite "get" how some of the contestants have huge fan bases before the show ever really starts, but they do. There's some hardocore AI fans out there.
