When will the first named storm form in Atlantic Basin?

This poll is only to guess when the first named storm will form,andis not a scientific sample.

Poll runs till Tue May 31, 2009 9:52 pm.

I say between July 11-20.

One "problem" is that the NHC is now naming systems that never would have been named before 2000. So the season only appears to be getting longer these days.

It will occur at one of three times:

a) a full moon
b) when I am on a trip....3rd week of June or 2nd week of July
c) During Exams...3rd week of July ( i think)

I'm going to say towards the end of June, 21-30. Don't know why, just gut instinct...probably will only be a TS or Cat 1 at the most.

I had a dream that we had a hurricane forming in May. I highly doubt I forsee the future! I'm gonna go with late June simply because the water isn't as warm as it was this time last year. I know that really doesn't mean much, but it could take a little longer for things to ramp up.

June TD that doesn't quite make tropical storm strength, late July tropical storm.

May not see a hurricane before August. But it'll catch up to normal to somewhat above normal in August, September and October.

Just a wild a**ed guess...
