I can't stand rap.

I love rock - especially classic rock.

Classical favorites - Vivaldi Four Seasons, Canon in D, Moonlight Sonata, Bolero, Larghetto by Handel and Pavane by Faure. Classical music transcends time. :D

There's a piece from Yanni that I love; "Tribute". Spectacular.

What a shame, this thread went from the beating of a person to what type of music a person likes. I personally like any type of music that has rhythm.

There's lots of examples of people who have made great contributions (and not so great in this case) whether it be music, science, scholarship, whatever, who had disfunctional private lives.

I'll bet we could get some dirt on Mozart.

People pay too much attention to celebrities in general. I reject the notion that celebrities or even sports figures are supposed to be "examples."

People should worry about what they can control in their own lives and stop living vicariously through these so-called celebrities.

Turn off the TV. You'd be surprised how much better your life becomes.

See heres the problem, these people tend to get away with things. Thats why we want examples made of them.

And Chris Brown sadly is somebody that younger people look up to, I don't know about you, but I wouldn't want my kid looking up to someone who beats women.

This is typical of most any conversation. No conversation stays 100% on track. If all conversations stayed on track...how boring.

That's a couple of good points. I see where you're coming from.

Still, I'm not wringing my hands over the situation. There's always been lots of idiots in the world and there always will be. The only thing we can really do, is do good in our own life and hope that it inspires someone else.

Oops, gotta go - Entertainment Tonight is on. :P

Well, as horrible as this is, you'll find this is the situation many times with abused women. Mostly, abused women are CONTROLLED by their abuser, they are made to feel guilty, as if the abuse is somehow their fault. They want to break away but are unable to for a long time, if ever. It is a vicious cycle. And I agree with Mama - no woman deserves this. It's very easy to be judgmental or say what you would or would not do....when you are sitting on the other side.

Chris Brown Charged with Two Felonies in Rihanna Beating
By Ken Lee

Originally posted Thursday March 05, 2009 01:00 PM EST

Chris Brown has to face the music.

The L.A. District Attorney's office announced Thursday that the R&B star was being charged with two felonies – assault and making criminal threats – in the alleged beating of his girlfriend Rihanna last month. Even though the couple seem to have reconciled, the case is proceeding.

If convicted, Brown faces anywhere from probation to a maximum four years and eight months in state prison, DA spokeswoman Sandi Gibbons said.

Brown is expected to enter a plea in court Thursday. He is required to appear in person.

The formal charges come almost a month after the couple argued early the morning of Feb. 8, just hours before Rihanna, 21, and Brown, 19, were both scheduled to perform at the Grammys. Police notes from the scene, which FOX 11 in L.A. claims it obtained, reportedly say Brown punched, bloodied and threatened to kill his girlfriend.

Later that day, Brown turned himself in to police and was booked for making criminal threats, a felony.

As police began two investigations – one into the alleged battery and the other an internal probe into the leak of a shocking photo of an injured Rihanna – the pair went their own ways. But the separation was short-lived.

Confounding Rihanna's family, the pair reunited in Miami Beach the weekend of Feb. 28, spending time at the Star Island mansion of Sean "Diddy" Combs. A source close to the couple told PEOPLE that the couple was "definitely together" and working on a reconciliation.

Early Monday, they returned on the same private plane to Los Angeles.

A rep for Rihanna had no comment.

I am not crazy with rap. The only rap music worth listening to is anything before the mid 1990s. Anything afterwards is a joke.

That's upsetting if it's true.

Best thing for her is if he does a year or two in the can. Let her clear her head, and realize he beat the crap out of her, and nobody deserves that.

No internet sourcing, but I heard a rumor in the strangest place that Brown may be 'juicing' (on steroids).

What seems like another turn in the situation is her newest video.

Wait Your Turn

Overall a much darker video than usual from Rihanna. The message is obvious to me.

if something happened to her, she now needs to give herself a good hard examination

did she think that a relationship containing domestic violence will ever be free of violence? It will not be
