Re: Rihanna allegedly assaulted by Chris Brown
oh but he won't go to jail for a simple beating of a woman, he's a celebrity you see.

Rihanna and Chris Brown are back together, PEOPLE has learned exclusively.
The pair have reunited almost three weeks after Brown, 19, allegedly battered the "Umbrella" singer on Feb. 8, a source tells PEOPLE.
"They're together again. They care for each other," says the source. The on-again couple are currently spending time together at one of Sean "Diddy" Combs's homes.
Adds the source: "While Chris is reflective and saddened about what happened, he is really happy to be with the woman he loves."
In its latest issue, PEOPLE reports that Brown called Rihanna on her 21st birthday one week ago. "He called to wish her happy birthday," a source told the magazine. "They've reached out to each other. It's been mutual."
Brown was booked by LAPD for making criminal threats but the case has not yet been presented to the District Attorney, who will ultimately determine which charges, if any, will be prosecuted.
OK, I'm in a very harsh mood tonight
Whatever happens to her, she deserves. Don't start crying when he beats the tar out of you again. I for one, will just turn on an old WW2 documentary and put my feet up and enjoy!

NO ONE, i repeat, NO ONE ever deserves to be beaten. And she does not deserve it and neither does any woman/man in a relationship.

The way I've heard it is Chris Brown is just getting back with her to make sure his career isn't completely over. His manager is telling him to get back with her, take some counseling, and everyone will think he is trying to better himself and is truly sorry for what happened and therefor people will keep playing and buying his music.
What a crock of crap.
IF I was a fan, which Im not, I know it wouldn't change my mind, whats done is done. And it truly shows what kind of person he is. I also am hearing my kids come home from school and a lot of Chris Brown fans are saying...oh well Rhianna is just trying to frame him. What??? Are you kidding.

If this is the case, they doctors should check Rhianna for brain damage. Because her brain is not working right he she got back together with him for that.
Bottom line, he brutally assaulted a woman (IMO one of the lowest crimes out there) and should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law, and his (IMO) lousy music should be pulled off the airwaves and his record deals and endorsements canceled.

Yes let's do that. But don't pull R Kelly's music off the airwaves, or the other 99% of music on the radio with lyrics about smoking marijuana, killing cops and guess what... abusing women. All rap music talks about is disrespecting and degrading women but when someone actually does it they wanna stop playing his music. That makes a lot of sense. I think what he did was horrible but I see no reason why it should affect his work. If somebody really likes Chris Brown's music does that mean they also like to beat up women? No.Category 5 wrote:

You don't see why this should affect his work. . .seriously? If he killed her, instead beating the crap out of her, would you still think the same? His "work" depends on the goodwill of others. Frankly, I am not contributing to his bottom line because of his behavior and his actions towards others. I do not listen to rap because it is disrespectful and degrading of other people. To me, purchasing/listening to this music (and of Chris Brown, R Kelly and even Amy Winehouse of all people) is a kin to a societal approval of their behavior.

Yeah, that. And it sounds like crap.

My point is why are we reacting so harshly to what Chris Brown has done but not with any other artists with criminal records? Lil Wayne is the biggest artist in the world right now and he has been arrested multiple times with possession of marijuana, cocaine and guns...but no no no don't pull his music off the airwaves he's only human. But Chris Brown doesn't get that break? I don't understand that. And it doesn't matter if you think his music is "crap", if you don't like his music turn the dial.lurker_from_nc wrote:AirNik wrote:Yes let's do that. My point is if you do this to Chris Brown, why not to everybody else? Didn't do it to Michael Jackson,or Akon, didn't do it to R Kelly or Snoop Dogg. DMX is in jail and he's still profiting off his music on the radio. I'm not condoning Chris Brown but am I the only one who sees this double standard? And Chris Brown's music was actually clean, but no let's pull that off the radio and fill it in with some more eminem and lil wayne...those guys are real role models.
And I disagree. Just because you like their music doesn't mean you approve of what goes on in their personal life. Like I said, just because somebdoy likes Chris Borown's music doesn't mean they like to beat up women. To me, purchasing/listening to this music (and of Chris Brown, R Kelly and even Amy Winehouse of all people) is a kin to a societal approval of their behavior.

If we take drastic measures and clean up the music industry, then we would have very few artists left. Today it's a joke every time an artists is in jail. After the event the publicity seemed to have worked in their favor.
Chris Brown should be prosecuted for his actions. His career as a musician will likely be impacted by the publicity of his recent actions. People will buy less of his music and chew less Spearmint!!!

Let me point out again. . I.DO.NOT.LISTEN.TO.RAP why because the whole genre is mostly full of hatred, violence and degradation of women, and that is sorta of a major turnoff.. . Chris Brown doesn't get break b/c beating crap out of your girlfriend is crossing a line with me and I don't really care who he is. . . and neither should any of the rappers you have mentioned get a break. .

Actually, they should put more Rihanna, Jennifer Hudson, and Queen Latifah in the place of Chris Brown, R Kelly and DMX. . . balance out all that testosterone with a little estrogen. . .

I think rap/hip hop should be abolished all together (I hate rap/hip hop with a passion). Also, the fact that Rihanna is back together with Chris Brown really burns me up.

You just joined this board. How do you know this is the only person we've ever reacted harshly to?
You don't.

I'm not familiar with Lil Wayne, but while being arrested for drugs obviously isn't a good thing, possessing drugs and beating up a woman are in 2 different leagues.
I don't like ANY rap music and I will turn the dial if it comes on, but I can say it sounds like crap if I want to. My point was that I won't be not buying his music because of this... I wouldn't have bought it anyway.
People are talking about Chris Brown because it recently happened and someone started a thread here about it. You want people's comments on Snoop Dogg, R Kelly, or any of the others, then start a thread about them. And I know there have been threads about Michael Jackson on here because I remember them. There's no double standard.

Totally agree. I can't stand rock either. In fact, it's even worse than rap. Have you ever listened to "Badinerie" by Bach? It's pure class, man. Those classical songs remain fresh even after hundreds of years. Does anyone think people are going to be listening to Chris Brown 200 years hence?Derek Ortt wrote:rap is nothing but crap... and I never listen to it
