Tropical Depression #7 moves inland across SE GA

However, most of the convection is NE of the center and the NE band developed quite a strong line of convection with frequent cloud to ground lightning ... I had to get up for work at 4:30 am to be in by 6 am ... Mother Nature has taken care of being the alarm clock in lieu of my usual alarm ...

In this radar picture saved around 4:40 am, the circulation center is almost due west of Savannah between Vidalia, and Hinesville (Just NW of Hinesville) but the most intense feeder (squall line) just came across my area with hardly any wind, but very heavy rains and frequent cloud to ground lightning (in which I have some video)...

We got our fair share of some very heavy storms early this morning in part of Tropical Depression #7 ... Charleston (as of 11 am EDT) recorded 1.63" of rain, but the heaviest occurred east and north of Charleston where flash flood warnings were issued around 6:30 am ...

Glad there is no flooding in your area SF. I bet you received that rain in just a short period of time though, right? It only takes one feederband to drop heavy amounts of rain in a short period of time.

You bet, Linda .... the first feeder continued to intensify even after the individual line of storms moved NNW while gradually spreading north and east ...

Here are comparison doppler radar rainfall totals from July 22nd-24th and then after the passage of the thunderstorms from Tropical Depression #7 this morning ...

Notice in the second image posted :darrow: below, Berkeley County was inundated and the far eastern section of Berkeley and Charleston county shows up with an estimated 10"+ of rainfall since July 22nd ... also notice the area of light blue in Lower SW SC and SE GA fills in nicely. Very fortunate this time, that this was only a weak Tropical Depression at the time of landfall ... but does this bode as a precursor for the rest of the season in regards to track? Only time will tell.

Good grief... look at Hinesville all the way up the coast to Georgetown!!! Impressive rainfall indeed.
