Still 69ºf here in Houston, but we aren't expecting temps to fall till well after midnight. Based on PTPatricks post and others I am wondering if this cold shot is shunting more off to the East than originally thought? We are still being forecast to have our high at midnight with temps falling into the 40's by wake up time. HHHMMM?????

It's 61° here - not sure we'll make it the forecast low of 45° but it could happen. I don't know where the front is at the moment. The high tomorrow is supposed to reach 50° followed by a low of 27° - BRRR. I guess we'll see how it plays out. They usually forecast too warm in the winter. Maybe it's just the opposite this time.

Front came through Houston just before midnight. Temp started a steady but not dramatic drop immediately. Now at 44.6º and still dropping, but I expect it to steady out near this temp for the day. The am is what may be interesting if the temps forecast verify and the moisture progged develops.

The arctic express hit us here in southern Indiana around 4:30 am, went from 33 down to 14 and still dropping. Can I move to Texas? At least it's a little warmer down there. :cold:

It's currently 47 here, kinda nice for the Holiday week. I just hope we don't have a hard freeze tonight. It will be nice to burn the fireplace though.

This crazy weather! I wonder how many people are going to end up being sick for the holidays. Hot, cold, hot, cold, hot, cold, hot.

Just a bit ot here...here's a little snippet from the lake charles nws from todays discussion which reminded me that today is the first day of winter. Now the total sentence structure doesn't make sense.....

THE SUN ANGLE IS NOT OUR FRIEND TODAY THE WINTER SOLSTICE.

Looks like one night with temps near freezing in Houston....NWS forecast is for 31 deg tonight and staying in the 40s on Monday. But as has been the case lately....huge warmup after that. Highs in the 70s and lows in the 60s forecast for Christmas in Houston.

Well, it made it... to 43° actually. Currently 47° (the forecast high) and dang windy!! We have a Wind Advisory in effect and a Hard Freeze Warning for tonight. It's only expected to reach 39° tomorrow. Image

No precip to go with the cold, though. What a waste of cold air. :P

Headed to around 20 tonight and may not see 40 tomorrow, but it's not gonna last. Pushing 70 by Christmas Eve. and the pattern through next weekend looks very similar to what we JUST got rid of, which I despise. :grr: If I wanted 70's for Christmas I'd live in Miami.

God I hope the pattern changes in January.

Currently 14 above at my house. Wind Chill Advisory (didn't even know there was such a thing!)......going down to 5 to 10 above tonight, with wind chills well below 0......

The birds are going crazy outside! We even took pictures. They seem frantic.

15.7 degrees at 9:05. I don't like the cold with no SNOW!!!!! Well, let me re-phrase that. I don't like it this cold without snow, but I do like cold for Christmas. :)

65.5F here and that's our low for the day. Crazy weather here. We've been in the deep south since '95, the has been the coldest winter yet with numerous freezes. And now the lowest forecast temp for the next 7 days is 59F. Go figure?
