GAStorm,

I lived in Marietta in the mid 80's. Is there still a restaurant off the square called "Brickworks"?

Sorry this is OT.

Hey Constructionwx,

I really don't know if Brickworks is still there. I have only driven through the square a few times. What's funny is that they actually filmed part of the dumb and dumber sequel up there. They had signs off the exit I work at for the film crew. Anyway, looks like some better days of weather will be coming our way!

Well, according to the link of the elev. map you provided us with, i'm somewhere around 1200' in elevation, which actually shocked me. I was thinking i was more like 1000-1050'. Thanks again for the link!!

Concerning yesterday's severe weather...I think you guys in northeast forsyth got it worse than us. I estimate the winds at my house in south forsyth got up to maybe 50 or 60mph for a breif period. We had some small branches fall off the trees and alot of leaves everywhere but besides that...in my neighborhood at least...we got off easy i think. BTW, what kind of weather station do you own?

Hey Adam,

I like those topo maps a lot!

Did you lose power? I've seen Sawnee EMC trucks on just about every corner today in my travels around the County. I've also seen more damage :o . I wish I had taken my camera with me ! I'd agree that the South End of the County was spared somewhat.

I have a Davis Vantage Pro. I've been very happy with it. Davis has just released a new version of their Weatherlink software, and it has some goodies that I plan to experiment with this weekend :D

Also, I saw your thread a week or two ago about winter wx predictions for N GA. Sorry I didn't get to reply to it. But my reply would have been the same for every year ( I'm an eternal optimist ) 3 or 4 snow and/or ice events, with at least 1 dropping over 6" :D :D

It was in the "Kennesaw House" right at the railroad tracks. Neat old building. Sherman had his headquarters there for a short time. You can still see spots from cannon fire in the brick exterior that had been patched.

I didn't know that any of that movie was filmed there. I hope those signs didn't get anyone lost going home.

And it does feel much less humid today. I hope it holds out for a little while at least..................... Nothing wrong with wishin'
