DH is all-new tonight and will explain a lot of things that happened the last 5 years. All 4 of the housewives will have flashbacks to key events that we missed while at a birthday party for McCluskey, there's a shocker in the past about Bree and Katherine and in the present a shocker about Bree/Orson. Also we'll see when Gaby found out she was pregnant which is hilarious, and McCluskey makes everyone thinks she's crazy with a cake and a baseball bat.

DH - sigh.......for the record, I still do not like the 5 year jump. There, I said it - again.

Lynette was always my favorite housewife. Probably still is, but Gabby's coming in at a very close second here. Lynette better lighten up otherwise Gabby's gonna pass her by.....LOL

Tom does seem restless. But the secret here is to give him back his you know what. Yes his **lls or his dignity! Not let him buy a Winnebago and yank the kids out of school for a year (silliest thing I've ever heard of on DH, hands down). But let him make some of the decisions Lynette.

What else.....hey, did you all notice that Penny spoke?!!!

I probably missed the explanation where Kayla is but have they officially said she's in college or something? Or prison? LOL

Flashbacks were nice. The divorce paper signing was very sad though. Especially when Susan declared - "we were Mike and Susan!".....yes they were. Mike and Susan no longer happily married is my #1 complaint about this 5 year jump.

Finally, Carlos referred to his 2 kids with Gabby as two little miracles (again, never thought I'd see the day Carlos and Gabby think about others here....and turn out to be NICE!), that was nice to hear but I'm thinking this family needs one more miracle and it's not a baby - his eyesight returned! Please, let that happen......and have his shave the beard too!

:roflmao:

That was best part, and also her flashbacks where she slapped the doctor and was threatening to kill Carlos.

Weakest storyline was the Scavos, but the others were awesome. I love the Dave mystery, it's so much different from the others and actually involves more than one or two characters. Can't wait for next week! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Op-l9Xb6lPA

Ratings were up over the last 2 weeks!

TV Ratings: FOX Covers Its Sunday Bases
The Phillies and FOX both win Sunday battles

The Philadelphia Phillies took a commanding World Series lead on Sunday, also giving FOX a commanding Sunday ratings win.

Overall, FOX averaged a 9.6 rating/15 share, comfortably outdistancing ABC's 7.3/11. CBS was third with a 6.9/11, leaving NBC a distant fourth with a 2.5/4. The CW's MRC experiment continued to limp along with a 0.5/1.

Among adults 18-49, FOX did a 5.6 rating, winning the key young adult demo. ABC was second with a 3.9 rating, followed again by CBS' 2.6 rating. NBC was fourth with a 1.6 rating and the 0.3 rating for The CW was enough for fifth.

FOX kicked the night off with an 11.4/19 for NFL overrun and post-game chatter. CBS got an 8.3/14 for "60 Minutes," good for second. ABC's "America's Funniest Home Videos" was third, far in front of the 1.8/3 for NBC's "Football Night in America." The CW's "In Harm's Way" barely registered.

At 8 p.m. FOX stayed on top with an 8.9/14 for pregame and the start of the World Series game between the Phillies and the Rays. ABC's "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" was second with a 7.3/11, followed by the 5.8/9 for CBS' "The Amazing Race." NBC's broadcast of "The 40-Year-Old Virgin" was fourth for the hour with a 2.8/4, many times better than the audience for "Valentine, Inc." on The CW.

ABC grabbed the 9 p.m. hour with a 10.0/15 for "Desperate Housewives," pushing FOX's baseball to second. CBS' "Cold Case" was third with a 7.6/11. NBC's movie was unchanged, but still topped the 0.4/1 for "Easy Money" on The CW.

At 10 p.m. ABC got a 6.8/11 from "Brothers and Sisters," winning the hour. CBS' "The Unit" was second with a 5.8/9. NBC trailed with the end of its movie and an episode of "The Office."

TV Ratings: 'Dancing' Rains on World Series Monday
ABC wins night over rain-shortened Series game

October 28, 2008

Fast National ratings for Monday, Oct. 27, 2008

The World Series suffered its first-ever suspension of play for bad weather Monday, and FOX suffered a ratings defeat at the hands of ABC and "Dancing with the Stars."

ABC averaged a 9.2 rating/14 share in primetime, beating FOX's 6.8/10 for the top spot (FOX's numbers will change some because of the live sports telecast). CBS took third with a 6.0/9. NBC, 4.1/6, came in fourth, and The CW trailed at 2.2/3.

ABC and FOX tied for the lead among adults 18-49, with each network drawing a 3.4 rating. CBS, 3.1, edged NBC, 2.9, for third. The CW came in at 1.6.

"Dancing with the Stars" ruled the 8 p.m. hour with an 11.5/17. The World Series pre-game and the start of Game 5 drew a 5.4/8 for FOX. Repeats of "The Big Bang Theory," 4.9/7, and "How I Met Your Mother," 4.5/7, put CBS in third. "Chuck" took fourth for NBC, topping the 2.3/3 for "Gossip Girl" on The CW.

ABC stayed on top at 9 p.m. with "Dancing with the Stars," 12.9/18, and "Samantha Who?," 7.6/11. The World Series improved to 7.1/10 for FOX. A "Two and a Half Men" repeat, 7.4/11, and a Monday tryout for "Gary Unmarried" (also a rerun), 5.4/8, held onto third for CBS. "Heroes" scored a 4.9/7 for NBC, while The CW held steady with "One Tree Hill."

The World Series game posted an 8.0/13 for FOX at 10 p.m. (the game was suspended because of rain in the sixth inning shortly before 11 p.m.). A "CSI: Miami" rerun on CBS earned a 6.9/11. "Boston Legal" posted a 5.9/9 for ABC, and "My Own Worst Enemy" came in at 3.4/5 for NBC.

http://www.zap2it.com/tv/ratings/zap-ra ... 1481.story

CBS has made its first major schedule change of the new season, pulling "The Ex List" from its lineup effective immediately.

The move isn't a major surprise given how poorly the show has been faring since it premiered. Overall, the series has averaged about 6 million viewers. Last week, "Ex" dropped a disturbing 20% among adults 18-49, falling to a series low.

CBS hasn't announced any long-term plans for the 9 p.m. Friday slot that had been home to the 20th Century Fox TV-produced show. This week the network will air a repeat of "NCIS" in the slot, which last season was home to fan favorite "Moonlight."

Finally they have quit making a joke of DWTS and sent Cloris Leachman home. She was definitely entertaining, but imo she had no business on the show from the beginning and because of her presence much better dancers were sent home before they should have been.

Karan - if I didn't have so many shows to watch each week, I'd check out the Mentalist. If for nothing else but the main star attraction!

TV Ratings: World Series, Obama draw solid numbers Wednesday
'Pushing Daisies' gets a slight boost against campaign ad

October 30, 2008

Fast National ratings for Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2008

The finale of the 2008 World Series carried FOX to a ratings win Wednesday, and Barack Obama's half-hour political ad drew a pretty sizable audience as well.

FOX averaged an 8.8 rating/13 share in primetime (as always with live sports, those numbers will change some in the final nationals). CBS took second with a 7.7/12. NBC, 4.8/8, edged ABC, 4.5/7, for third. The CW drew a 2.0/3.

In the adults 18-49 demographic, FOX's 4.7 rating easily led the night. CBS, 3.0, came in second, followed by ABC, 2.4, and NBC, 2.3. The CW trailed with a 1.5.

The Obama ad, which aired on CBS, FOX and NBC at 8 p.m., drew a combined 26 million-plus viewers. FOX won the hour as the ad and the resumption of World Series Game 5 averaged 6.8/11. CBS scored a 5.3/8 with Obama and "Old Christine," finishing in a virtual tie with NBC, which followed the ad with "Deal or No Deal." ABC's "Pushing Daisies" was fourth at 4.0/6, only slightly better than its season average thus far. "America's Next Top Model" scored a 2.7/4 for The CW.

FOX rose to a 10.8/16 at 9 p.m. as the Philadelphia Phillies closed out the Tampa Bay Rays to win their first World Series since 1980. CBS took second with "Criminal Minds," 8.8/13. "Deal or No Deal" earned a 5.6/8 for NBC, topping the 5.2/8 for "Private Practice" on ABC. "Stylista" brought up the rear for The CW.

"CSI: NY" dominated the 10 p.m. hour for CBS with an 8.8/15. "Dirty Sexy Money" posted a 4.1/7 for ABC, beating the 3.5/6 for "Lipstick Jungle" on NBC.

http://www.zap2it.com/tv/ratings/zap-ra ... 4699.story

"Death" is about to take a holiday on Fox.

The network on Wednesday pulled low-rated Brad Garrett comedy "'Til Death" from its lineup, effective immediately. The show will be off the air for at least two weeks, according to program listings released by the network.

During those two weeks, Fox is planning to air repeats of "House" in the 9 p.m. Wednesday slot currently occupied by "Death." Earlier this month, Fox pulled the plug on "Death" companion "Do Not Disturb."

A Fox spokesman said "Death" would return after the November sweeps.

Sony Pictures Television produces "'Til Death," which is currently in its third season.

TV Ratings: '30 Rock' Rolls to Series High
CBS wins Thursday, but Tina Fey's promo blitz helps NBC

October 31, 2008

Fast National ratings for Thursday, Oct. 30, 2008

CBS racked up another Thursday-night ratings win, but NBC's "30 Rock" grabbed its biggest audience ever following Tina Fey's star turn as Sarah Palin on " Saturday Night Live."

CBS led the night with a 9.0 rating/14 share, beating out ABC's 7.1/11. NBC came in third with a 4.9/8. FOX took fourth with a 3.0/5, and The CW trailed at 1.9/3.

The adults 18-49 race was closer, but CBS' 3.9 rating still won the night, topping ABC's 3.6 and NBC's 3.4. FOX averaged 1.8 and The CW 1.2.

" Survivor: Gabon," 7.9/13, put CBS on top at 8 p.m. ABC's "Ugly Betty" drew a 5.6/9 to finish second. "My Name Is Earl," 3.9/6, and " Kath & Kim," 3.4/5, were third for NBC. "Smallville" earned a 2.6/4 for The CW, edging a " Kitchen Nightmares" rerun on FOX.

CBS stayed on top at 9 p.m. with " CSI," the night's most-watched show at 11.5/17. " Grey's Anatomy," 9.9/15, however, grabbed the evening's best adults 18-49 rating. " The Office," 5.3/8, and "30 Rock," 5.0/7, which hit series highs in viewers and adults 18-49, kept NBC in third. A new "Kitchen Nightmares," 2.5/4, moved FOX slightly ahead of " Supernatural" on The CW.

" Eleventh Hour," 7.7/13, completed the CBS sweep at 10 p.m. NBC's " ER," 5.9/10, which led the hour in the 18-49 demo, beat out ABC's " Life on Mars," 5.7/10.

TV Ratings: NFL, 'Simpsons' Lead the Way Sunday
'Treehouse of Horror' gets the night's best 18-49 ratings

Fast National ratings for Sunday, Nov. 2, 2008

The NFL brought ratings dividends to both NBC and FOX Sunday, while the annual "Simpsons" Halloween show was a big demographic draw.

NBC led the night's overall race with a 7.8 rating/12 share. ABC and CBS tied for second in households at 7.1/11, with ABC slightly ahead in total viewers (11.27 million to 11.19 million for CBS). FOX finished a competitive fourth at 6.4/10. The CW's lame-duck lineup hardly made an impressing, finishing at 0.5/1.

"The Simpsons" helped FOX lead the adults 18-49 demographic with a 4.9 rating. NBC took second at 4.5, followed by ABC at 3.9. CBS averaged 2.6, and The CW limped in at 0.2.

CBS' "60 Minutes" put CBS on top at 7 p.m. with a 9.1/14. Late-afternoon NFL games and "The OT" averaged 7.9/13 for FOX (and led the 18-49 demo by a wide margin). NASCAR racing, 5.2/8, and an abbreviated "America's Funniest Home Videos," 4.0/6, put ABC in third, just ahead of "Football Night in America" on NBC. The CW went with "In Harm's Way."

NBC grabbed the overall lead at 8 p.m. with "Sunday Night Football," 8.4/13. "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" drew a 6.9/10 for ABC. "The Simpsons," 7.0/10, and "King of the Hill," 5.0/7, came in third for FOX. "The Amazing Race" scored a 6.0/9 for CBS. "Valentine" couldn't find any love on The CW.

"Desperate Housewives," 10.1/15, snagged the night's biggest audience for ABC at 9 p.m. NBC's NFL game, featuring the Indianapolis Colts and New England Patriots, earned a 9.1/14. "Cold Case," 7.5/11, was third for CBS. FOX fell back to fourth with "Family Guy," 5.8/9, and "American Dad," 4.4/7. "Easy Money" closed the night for The CW.

"Sunday Night Football," 9.0/15, regained the lead for NBC at 10 p.m. "Brothers & Sisters" posted a 6.6/11 for ABC, while CBS got a 5.7/10 from "The Unit."

As much as I had grown tired of both DH and B & S, they both seem to be on a better keel/more interesting to me this season. I told my wife from the time Edie and her husband moved back to Wisteria Lane that he was up to no good and I think they revealed his purpose last night. Did anyone see/hear it?

What a twist appears to be coming on B & S with the Mom apparently attending a function with the husband of one of her late husbands affairs.

I agree, certainly about DH. The time jump has revitalized the show in a much-needed way, though I'm having trouble buying the Scavo boy being a teenager and sleeping with a 45-year-old woman. In Season 1 he was in elementary school.

Brace yourselves, Grey's Anatomy fans: The show has parted ways with a female doc who is blond, beautiful, outspoken – and not Katherine Heigl. It's Brooke Smith. As in Dr. Erica Hahn. As in one half of Callica, Grey's first-ever significant gay couple. And that's only part of the story. I'm told this was not Shonda Rhimes' decision but rather an order that came down from the network. (ABC declined to comment.) According to one Grey's source, the suits "had issues" with both the explicit direction Callica was taking (think: undiscovered country, south of the border, etc.) and, more importantly, with the Hahn character in general. Basically, they didn't like her and wanted her gone ASAP.

Interesting. I did not care for her character either and I don't feel like she added anything to the show. Nor do I think adding them in as a gay couple added anything to the show. It is not something I have a problem with, but I didn't see what it had to do with the show at all except I guess some would say it was a continuation of the sometimes decidedly sexual orientation(no pun intended) of the show.

TV Ratings: NBC Scores with 'SNL Presidential Bash'

Fast National ratings for Monday, Nov. 3, 2008

ABC claimed its customary top spot in Monday's overall ratings, but a "Saturday Night Live" election special scored the night's best demographic numbers.

ABC ran promos last night saying Lost would return in January(did not specify a timeslot), though it'll probably be announced soon, Mondays have been:

Reality shows set to premiere on January 5
By MICHAEL SCHNEIDER

ABC has firmed up its winter plans for Monday night, starting with the return of "The Bachelor."

Alphabet net will preem a two-hour edition of "The Bachelor" on Monday, January 5, followed by the launch of "True Beauty" - the formerly untitled reality competish from Tyra Banks and Ashton Kutcher.

The following week, "The Bachelor" will shrink down to its normal 90 minute frame, leaving room for "Samantha Who?" in its regular 9:30 p.m. slot. "True Beauty" continues at 10.

"The Bachelor" fills the void left by "Dancing With the Stars," which returns in the spring. "True Beauty," meanwhile, takes over for "Boston Legal," which finishes off its series run later this fall.

Next "Bachelor" reps the 13th edition of the romantic reality skein; Jason Mesnick, who was turned down by DeAnna Pappas in the season finale of the last "The Bachelorette," will star as the new "Bachelor."

Meanwhile, the Alphabet net has kept details of "True Beauty" under wraps. But the show, from Warner Horizon, Bankable Prods. and Katalyst, revolves around people who live in a House together and compete in a beauty pageant.
