Just got the ratings and it's not good at all. I don't get it. The horrible Eleventh Hour went up but Life on Mars lost 25% from last week? I'm really sick of CBS winning everywhere with the same type of shows night after night.

Ratings: 'Eleventh Hour' Up, 'Life on Mars' Down
CBS scores an easy win on Thursday

October 17, 2008
Rufus Sewell, 'Eleventh Hour'

Fast National ratings for Thursday, Oct. 16, 2008

CBS gained the upper hand in the battle of British remakes on Thursday as "Eleventh Hour" improved on its premiere while ABC's "Life on Mars" dropped off.

CBS easily won the night with a 9.1 rating/15 share. ABC finished second at 6.9/11. NBC took third at 5.0/8. FOX managed only a 2.6/4, but that was just good enough to beat the 2.2/3 for The CW.

In the adults 18-49 demographic things were a little closer, but CBS still prevailed with a 4.2 rating. ABC, 3.7, came in second, and NBC was third at 3.4. FOX and The CW tied for fourth at 1.4.

"Survivor: Gabon" kicked things off for CBS with a 7.9/13 at 8 p.m. "Ugly Betty" delivered a 5.6/9 for ABC. NBC grabbed third with "My Name Is Earl," 4.2/7, and "Kath & Kim," 3.9/6, which fell off from its premiere last week. The CW's "Smallville," 2.5/4, beat out FOX's "Hole in the Wall" for fourth.

CBS stayed on top of the overall ratings at 9 p.m. with "CSI," 11.6/18. "Grey's Anatomy" scored a 9.6/14 for ABC and had the night's best rating among adults 18-49. "The Office," 4.8/7, and "Saturday Night Live Weekend Update Thursday," 5.3/8, kept NBC in third. FOX's "Kitchen Nightmares," 2.3/3, moved ahead of "Supernatural" on The CW.

At 10 p.m., "Eleventh Hour" drew a 7.8/13, an improvement on last week's series premiere. NBC got a 5.9/10 from "ER," while "Life on Mars" fell off from its debut and finished with a 5.6/9 for ABC. :grr:

"Terminator" is far from being terminated.

Fox has just given a full-season order to "Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles." Cast and crew were informed of the decision late Friday.

Back nine order was far from certain; show has been struggling in its Monday night time slot. But "Sarah Connor" has developed a fan base and some positive critical attention along the way.

"Sarah Connor" was pre-empted this week due to baseball playoff coverage, but in its last airing, on Oct. 6, averaged a 2.3 rating and 6 share among adults 18-49, which was up slightly from the prior week.

Also earlier this week The Mentalist got a full season.

I totally forgot. Well at least it's not that bad of news. The WGA strike started on November 5th last year, so, the coincidences were getting a little too freaky.

I'm still not that concerned to be honest.

I finally watched last week's Desperate Housewives yesterday. I think I might try to watch it live tonight, since I have a difficult time anymore watching recorded shows.....LOL

I'm still on the fence about this 5 year jump ahead. I just do not have the same enthusiasm for DH that I had last year. I know it's interesting to see how the characters got to where they are now, 5 years later, but I find myself not really caring. Or focusing on odd things - such as Bree's sunken in cheeks, or more wrinkles, or her hair color. It seems more fake than ever before!

The only one that seems real to me now is Gabby.

I swear I never thought I'd say that about Gabby. When the show started, Gabby was the most superficial character of them all! Well, almost, Edie was in a category all by herself.

Anyway, I won't quit watching DH but I do wish they hadn't done this.

It seems like there is always a disconnect with the Canadian one and the American Discovery. There was at 9 pm ET a tornado show called "Tornado Rampage" in which there was basically the last decade of good twister footage pasted together into a 1 hour program. Mythbusters comes on at 10 pm ET.

Ratings: NFL Pushes CBS to Sunday Win
ABC gets a share of the demo crown

October 20, 2008

Fast National ratings for Sunday, Oct. 19, 2008

NBC's prime-time NFL game brought home some of its lowest ratings ever Sunday, but afternoon football helped carry CBS to the top of the heap.

CBS averaged an 8.6 rating/14 share for the night, thanks in large part to late-afternoon games bleeding into primetime. ABC took second with a 6.9/11. NBC managed only a 4.8/8 to finish third, beating out FOX's 3.9/6. The CW was its usual irrelevant self, coming in at 0.5/1.

ABC and CBS each drew a 3.7 rating in the adults 18-49 demographic. FOX, 3.2, finished third, followed by NBC at 2.8. The CW barely registered.

NFL overruns and "60 Minutes" scored a 12.6/21 for CBS at 7 p.m. ABC was a distant second with "America's Funniest Home Videos," 4.9/9. "Football Night in America" earned a 3.4/6 for NBC. A pair of "Simpsons" reruns averaged 2.8/5 for FOX, while The CW went with "In Harm's Way."

CBS held the lead at 8 p.m. as "60 Minutes" and "The Amazing Race" combined for an 8.3/13. "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," 6.4/10, kept ABC in second. NBC's "Sunday Night Football" was well off its usual numbers at 5.0/8. FOX came in fourth overall, but led the hour in adults 18-49, with "The Simpsons," 4.7/7, and "King of the Hill," 4.2/6. "Valentine" brought up the rear for The CW.

"Desperate Housewives," 9.6/14, moved ABC into the lead at 9 p.m. CBS fell back to second with "The Amazing Race" and "Cold Case," 6.7/10. The NFL game between Tampa Bay and Seattle improved some to 5.7/8 for NBC. "Family Guy," 5.2/8, and "American Dad," 3.9/6, closed the night for FOX. "Easy Money" aired on The CW.

At 10 p.m., the conclusion of "Cold Case" and "The Unit," averaged a 6.9/11 for CBS. ABC's "Brothers & Sisters" was right behind at 6.7/11. "Sunday Night Football" came in at 5.0/8 for NBC.

Consider yourself lucky to have political ads. We don't have any in Texas because our votes are a sure bet...basically implying that my vote in particular doesn't count.

I have lately been watching whatever is on CW, NBC, CBS, or FOX whenever I happen to have the TV on. Frankly, not much I'm interested in....House, FOX cartoon block, South Park, SNL, and NBC newscasts.

LOL!

Cause if I could comment, I'd make people mad, mad......anywho, back to TV and shows.

Big Bang - funny, as always. Love it when they take Sheldon out of his element. His friends thought it was time to get his drivers license - silly people! Hilarious scenes ensued.....

How I Met Your Mother - a few storyline twists, that I did see coming. AND made this fan happy.

Two and a Half Men - surprisingly funny again this week. You'd think they would have beaten that wild stud Charlie to a pulp but week after week, they have more jokes about how awful he's been to women. And it's funny! Whodda thunk it? All these years later. Of course, Berta's always great to have on hand, to put the jokes and hilarity into perspective too.

All in all, the first 3 Monday night CBS sitcoms - funny as always. Hubby's currently watching Worst Week. I can't bring myself to watch that show....sorry but it's awful!

October 21, 2008

Fast National ratings for Monday, Oct. 20, 2008

"Two and a Half Men" led CBS to a demographic triumph Monday night, but ABC and its dancing stars still ruled the overall ratings.

ABC drew a 9.2 rating/14 share for the night, beating out CBS' 7.3/11 for the top spot. NBC finished a fairly distant third at 4.3/7. FOX, 3.3/5, came in fourth, and The CW trailed with a 2.1/3.

FOX's "Prison Break" improved a little on its lead-in, as did The CW's "One Tree Hill," which scored a 2.2/3.

"CSI: Miami" easily won the 10 p.m. hour for CBS with an 8.7/14. "Boston Legal," 5.8/10, was second for ABC, while "My Own Worst Enemy" could muster only a 3.7/6 for NBC.

Fast Nationals: World Series Down; FOX still wins night

The opening game of the World Series gave FOX a ratings victory Wednesday night, although it didn't measure up to last year's numbers.

FOX averaged an 8.6 rating/14 share in primetime, with those numbers likely to change because of the live sports telecast. That's down a couple of points from Game 1 last year but better than the 2006 opener. CBS, 7.9/13, finished a solid second. ABC was well back in third at 4.4/7, followed by NBC at 4.1/7. The CW drew a 2.3/4.

FOX also led among adults 18-49 with a 4.3 rating. CBS, 3.4, came in second. ABC took third at 2.3. NBC's 1.9 beat out The CW's 1.6 for fourth.

The World Series pre-game and the start of Game 1 drew an 8.3/13 for FOX at 8 p.m. "The New Adventures of Old Christine," 5.3/8, and "Gary Unmarried," 5.2/8, put CBS in second. "Knight Rider," 4.4/7, grabbed third for NBC, topping "Pushing Daisies" on ABC. "America's Next Top Model" delivered a 2.9/5 for The CW.

CBS took the lead at 9 p.m. with "Criminal Minds," 9.3/14. The Philadelphia Phillies and Tampa Bay Rays scored an 8.6/13 for FOX. "Private Practice," 5.4/8, moved ABC ahead of NBC and "Deal or No Deal." The premiere of "Stylista" scored a 1.6/2 for The CW.

"CSI: NY," 9.2/15, held the lead for CBS at 10 p.m. The World Series posted an 8.8/14 for FOX. "Dirty Sexy Money" earned a 4.0/7 for ABC, while "Lipstick Jungle" trailed for NBC.

TV Ratings: 'CSI,' 'Grey's Anatomy' Beat World Series
CBS continues its Thursday winning streak

October 24, 2008

Fast National ratings for Thursday, Oct. 23, 2008

The Tampa Bay Rays evened the World Series Thursday night, but FOX couldn't catch up to CBS in the ratings.

CBS won the night with a 9.1 rating/14 share. FOX came in second with a 7.2/11 (its numbers will change some after adjusting for live viewing coast-to-coast), beating out ABC's 6.9/11. NBC took fourth at 4.7/7, while The CW earned a 2.3/4.

The Eye also topped the adults 18-49 demographic with a 4.3 rating. ABC and FOX tied for second at 3.5, with NBC not far behind at 3.2. The CW trailed with a 1.5.

"Survivor: Gabon," 7.8/12, gave CBS the lead at 8 p.m. Game 2 of the World Series (along with the pre-game show) scored a 6.5/10 for FOX. "Ugly Betty," 5.7/9, put ABC in third, ahead of "My Name Is Earl" and "Kath & Kim" on NBC. "Smallville" drew a 2.6/4 for The CW.

CBS increased its lead at 9 p.m. thanks to "CSI," the night's top-rated show at 11.4/17. "Grey's Anatomy," 9.5/14, was second for ABC, dropping FOX's World Series coverage to third. "The Office," 4.5/7, and "Saturday Night Live Weekend Update Thursday," 5.1/8, kept NBC in front of The CW and "Supernatural," 2.0/3.

At 10 p.m., the World Series rose to 7.7/13, tying for the lead with CBS' "Eleventh Hour." NBC's "ER," 5.7/9, beat out ABC's "Life on Mars," 5.4/9, for third.

http://www.zap2it.com/tv/ratings/zap-ra ... 5045.story

“Gary Unmarried” will get a shot at the big time next week.

CBS has decided to serve up a repeat of the “Gary” pilot in the network’s best comedy time slot: Monday at 9:30 p.m., immediately following top-rated “Two and a Half Men.” Executives want to see how “Gary” does in a different environment.

“Worst Week,” which normally airs in the Monday night slot, will be preempted for a week.

The Monday night upgrade isn’t the only bit of good news for “Gary.” CBS is said to be close to ordering several more scripts of the Jay Mohr series, which scored series ratings highs last night. (A previous report that CBS had already handed out the order was premature).

CBS last week greenlit two extra scripts for “Worst Week.”

lurker! LOL

Well, I myself do not watch that particular show but I watch a slew of them.....too many some weeks. I've yet to finish watching Eli Stone from Tuesday and ER from last night. I'll fit them in before I go back to work on Monday - hopefully!

Personally, I'd like to see more S2K members chime in on their favorite shows and episodes. What they liked, didn't like, etc. That sort of thing. Stats are fine, I just would like to find like minded TV fans (like you!)....

Hey, I'll give you an example:

The Office - funny as always. My favorite part? Dwight at the auction - Two hundred dollars and one penny.....LOL!!!
