NYPD Detective Sam Tyler finds himself in 1973 in the cultural hotbed of New York City during the tumultuous times of the Vietnam War, Watergate, women's lib and the civil and gay rights movements without a cell phone or computer -- suddenly hurtled back in time, ripped from 2008 after being hit by a car while chasing down a criminal. Brent,
If you get a chance, watch the British verison. They did an outstanding job on the pilot in tranlating from 70's England to 70's New York.
The music, so far, is great (as long as they skip disco). . . that was the one I especially enjoyed about the British verison

October 10, 2008
Fast National ratings for Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008
The season premiere of "CSI" led CBS to a ratings win Thursday.
It was a busy night across the dial, as a pair of new series battled to a virtual tie at 10 p.m., a "Saturday Night Live" special scored solid numbers for NBC and postseason baseball whiffed on FOX.
CBS averaged a 9.6 rating/15 share in primetime, beating ABC, 7.7/12, by better than 4 million viewers. NBC took third with a 5.5/9. FOX, 4.4/7, came in fourth, though its numbers will change some because of its live sports coverage. The CW drew a 2.3/4.
In the adults 18-49 demographic, CBS' 4.9 rating led the field. ABC finished second at 4.0, followed closely by NBC at 3.9. FOX averaged 2.1 and The CW 1.5.
"Survivor: Gabon" put CBS on top at 8 p.m. with a 7.8/13. "Ugly Betty," 5.8/9, snagged second for ABC. "My Name Is Earl," 4.4/7, and the premiere of "Kath & Kim," 4.7/7, were third for NBC. Game 1 of the National League Championship series snagged fourth for FOX, ahead of "Smallville," 2.6/4, on The CW.
The "CSI" premiere, with the team tracking down Warrick's killer, scored a 13.7/21 at 9 p.m. -- far and away the night's biggest audience. "Grey's Anatomy," 9.7/15, kept ABC in second. NBC stayed in third with "The Office," 5.4/8, and a "Saturday Night Live Weekend Update Thursday" special, 6.3/9. FOX's baseball coverage earned a 4.3/6, while The CW dropped off a little with "Supernatural."
At 10 p.m., the debut of "Life on Mars" won the hour for ABC with a 7.7/13. CBS' "Eleventh Hour" premiere was right behind at 7.3/12, but it lost a lot more of its lead-in than "Mars." NBC's "ER" drew a 6.0/10, and led the hour in the 18-49 demo.

DH was hilarious tonight. Best episode in a long time. Loved Bree and Danielle, Susan and Gaby's catfight, Mike and Jackson's friendship, and Edie's white trash comment. Oh and Dave continues to get creepier.

Obviously, they didn't get these numbers from me. I mean, why watch the football and baseball games when you can have Category5 and Fact789 give their version of the play-by play and score alerts in chat?

Hey Mary, Eli Stone returns tonight at 10/9 Central after DWTS Results. Katie Holmes and Sigourney Weaver guest star.
Major DH spoiler too:
Katherine and Mike become a couple in November!!!!!
Production on MRC's scripted series for the CW has been shut down.
The independent producer, which in May inked a time buy-type deal with the CW to program the network's Sunday night, has put the two scripted series for the block, "Easy Money" and "Valentine, Inc.," on 4- to 6-week hiatus.
In their second outing Sunday, "Valentine" averaged 1 million viewers and a 0.4 rating/1 share among adults 28-49, while the well received "Easy Money" logged 750,000 viewers, 0.3/1 in 18-49, down 25% from the premiere.
A rep for MRC said the hiatuses were planned to give writers time to catch up on scripts, and crews and casts were informed of the dates on Friday.
Both shows are still on track to fulfill their 13-episode orders, the rep said.

Thanks for the Eli Stone update! I'll record it.
Here's another question for you Brent. Do you know if TV Guide did away with offering TV show blogs? Links for this former section do not work anymore. I really enjoyed reading them after each episode of many of the shows we watch. Especially Lost......

Rocco. Cloris was also in the bottom two so hopefully she goes next

Final Presidential Debate tonight so everything on ABC/CBS/NBC from 9-11 is pre-empted. FOX has baseball.
ABC has ordered more scripts for Eli Stone(awesome episode last night BTW), though the ratings were pretty bad considering the lead-in, but it did better than other second-year shows.

Re: What are you watching this Fall?
WOW, Life on Mars was amazing. Maybe better than the pilot...
Opportunity's no longer knocking for ABC's "Opportunity Knocks."
Alphabet made its first cancellation of fall, pulling the gamer after three episodes. ABC will air cut-down, hourlong "Dancing With the Stars" recap episodes, leading into the night's live results show, starting next Tuesday.
"Opportunity Knocks" had averaged just a 1.9 rating and 5 share among adults 18-49 during its brief run, as well as 6.3 million viewers.
Hosted by JD Roth, show featured families as they competed -- on their front lawns -- for prizes by answering questions about their lives. Ashton Kutcher, Jason Goldberg, Karey Burke, Todd A. Nelson and Roth exec produced.
ABC will hold on to the six remaining episodes and plans to air them at a later date.
