Olympic gold medalist Misty May-Treanor will leave “Dancing With the Stars” after suffering an injury, Access Hollywood has learned.
A source close to the show revealed to Access that the volleyball star is out of the competition and will require surgery.
Though the competition was just two weeks old, Misty had already stepped out as a “Dancing” star on the rise.

She was one of the best too. Wonder what ABC will do this week.
and here's last night depressing ratings. Friday is turning into Saturday.

Re: What are you watching this Fall?
To update the previous post about Misty, there seems to be conflicting info:
http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/b32458_ ... tatus.html
Is Misty May-Treanor hanging up her Dancing shoes?
The Olympic gold medalist, who has proven to be quite a threat on Dancing With the Stars, suffered an injury on Friday that required immediate medical attention. In a statement released by ABC, the show's producers said:
"Dancing with the Stars contestant Misty May-Treanor sustained an injury on Friday and received immediate medical attention. Despite previous reports, she did not break her ankle. She is resting comfortably at home. Doctors will reevaluate her condition on Monday and determine the outcome of her participation on the show."

Re: What are you watching this Fall?
I just emailed CBS to ask that if they cancel Worst Week (awful, awful show, IMHO), they bring back the New Adventures of Old Christine to Monday nights. Where that show belongs, again, IMHO.
So if you can barely get thru one full episode of Worst Week as we can't (we cringe after just several preposterous scenes and turn it off), ask if they can return Christine to it's proper night. That way CBS would have a solid two hour sitcom block!
Thanks. (I do realize my one measly little email/contact website option won't do much but at least I could voice my opinion!).

Re: What are you watching this Fall?

Reality series In Harm’s Way opened the evening with a mere 676,000 viewers and a 0.3 rating/1 share among adults 18-49 from 7-8 p.m. One year earlier, failed magazines CW Now (Viewers: 790,000, A18-49: 0.3/ 1 on Oct. 7, 2007) and Online Nation (Viewers: 700,000; A18-49: 0.3/ 1) averaged 745,000 viewers and a 0.3/ 1 in the demo on Oct. 7, 2007. Next was the premiere of the scripted Valentine at 1.10 million viewers and a 0.3/ 1 among adults 18-49 at 8 p.m., which was down from year-ago failed occupant Life Is Wild (Viewers: 1.65 million; A18-49: 0.4/ 1 on Oct. 7, 2007) by 550,000 viewers and 25 percent in the demo. And the premiere of drama Easy Money dropped to 1.08 million viewers and a 0.4/ 1 among adults 18-49. One year earlier was a repeat of America’s Next Top Model at 1.35 million viewers and a 0.5/ 1 in the demo. Needless to say, last-place the CW must really be cringing day. Horrible…just horrible!
Ratings: NFL, 'Desperate Housewives' Rule Sunday
CBS, ABC split the night's title while The CW's lineup tanks
Fast National ratings for Sunday, Oct. 5, 2008
The end of the afternoon's NFL games gave CBS a big ratings bounce Sunday, enough to carry it past NBC's prime-time telecast and ABC's regular lineup.
CBS averaged an 8.4 rating/13 share in primetime, beating ABC's 7.4/12 and NBC's 6.7/11 (the numbers for CBS and NBC might change some because of the live sports on their airwaves). FOX was fourth at 3.5/6/ The CW's new lineup barely made a ripple, drawing a 0.6/1.
ABC led the adults 18-49 demographic with a 4.1 rating, barely beating NBC's 4.0. CBS finished a close third at 3.8. FOX drew a 3.0, and The CW trailed at 0.4.
Late-ending NFL games and "60 Minutes" averaged 11.9/20 for CBS at 7 p.m. ABC finished a distant second with "America's Funniest Home Videos," 5.3/9. "Football Night in America" earned a 3.7/6 for NBC. A pair of "King of the Hill" reruns scored a 2.2/4 for FOX. The CW was well off the pace with "In Harm's Way."
CBS held the lead at 8 p.m. as "60 Minutes" and "The Amazing Race" combined for an 8.4/13. NBC's "Sunday Night Football," 7.3/11, took second, narrowly beating the 7.2/11 for "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition" on ABC. "The Simpsons," 4.2/7, and "King of the Hill," 3.8/6, held onto fourth for FOX. The premiere "Valentine" won few hearts for The CW.
"Desperate Housewives," 10.0/15, grabbed the lead for ABC at 9 p.m. "Sunday Night Football," featuring the Pittsburgh Steelers and Jacksonville Jaguars, stayed in second, topping the 6.7/10 for "The Amazing Race" and "Cold Case" on CBS. FOX finished its night with "Family Guy," 4.9/7, and "American Dad," 4.0/6. The debut of "Easy Money" posted a 0.7/1 for The CW.
The Steelers-Jaguars game posted a 7.4/12 for NBC at 10 p.m. ABC's "Brothers & Sisters," 7.1/12, finished second in households, but "Cold Case" and "The Unit" (6.7/11) had a few more total viewers.

From the Hollywood Reporter today:
CBS has been concerned about "Worst Week" being a Monday night Nielsen buzzkill. Had the show dropped again, the prognosis for staying in this valuable time slot would have likely been dire (especially with workman "Rules of Engagement" on the sidelines, just itching to get back in the game). But does "Worst" going up merely a tenth while its "Men" lead-in goes up four tenths really suggest a turnaround? Especially when "CSI" is diving several tenths afterward?
"Worst Week" is staying put, source say. At least for now. The network likes the show, critics have called it the best new comedy of the fall (among the meager pickings), and that means showing another week of patience with the current viewership pothole. CBS has also just won the second week of the broadcast season and can afford a generous mood.
I do agree the show is awful but Christine certainly won't do any better. It's had it's chance there before. Perhaps they could try Gary Unmarried there?

I think CBS is waiting til Samantha Who? returns next Monday(against Worst Week on ABC with the DWTS lead-in) to see how things go then.

I can't even watch that video link Brent. As soon as I saw - fire claims lives - I sighed. I'm only half into this season to begin with. I keep hanging in there but don't feel as connected to these characters as I once did. I wanted to see the Scavo kids turn into teens! Dang it......I wanted to see Bree deal with teething......anyway, it's just all different. As soon as one of the twins explained how he communicates on a facebook type website, I thought oh that's a new one, haven't heard that one before. Well duh, it's 5 years from now - it's all made up.
Mostly I want to ask the Wisteria Lane folks who won the election of 08! LOL
Back to TV and such.....

Ratings: 'Dancing,' Debate Carry ABC Tuesday
Second presidential face-off draws another big crowd
October 8, 2008
Fast National ratings for Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2008
The second of three presidential debates drew another large audience Tuesday. ABC used that, and the voting results on "Dancing with the Stars," to grab the night's top spot.
ABC averaged an 8.4 rating/13 share in primetime -- although those numbers will change some because of the live debate and the fact that "Dancing" aired at 8 p.m. in the eastern half of the country and 9 p.m. Pacific time. CBS took second at 7.1/11. NBC's 5.4/8 was good enough for third. FOX, 3.6/5, came in fourth, and The CW trailed with a 1.9/3.
The adults 18-49 victory also went to ABC, which scored a 3.6 rating in the demo. NBC finished second at 3.2, followed by CBS at 2.9. FOX averaged 2.3 and The CW 1.4.
"NCIS" drew a 9.7/15 for CBS at 8 p.m. "Dancing with the Stars" (and local programming out West) put ABC in second at 9.0/14. "The Biggest Loser" snagged third for NBC, beating a "House" rerun, 4.0/6, on FOX. The CW got a 2.2/3 from "90210."
The debate took over the airwaves at 9 p.m. ABC earned a 9.3/13 for the hour (that number includes the "Dancing" results on the West Coast). NBC, 6.1/9, narrowly beat CBS, 5.9/9, for second. FOX's debate coverage finished fourth, while "Privileged" posted a 1.6/2 for The CW.
ABC scored a 7.0/11 at 10 p.m. with the conclusion of the debate and analysis. CBS, 5.5/9, moved in front of NBC, 5.4/9, for the hour.

Watched back to back Til Death episodes. The one featuring Eddie's friend Kenny's storyline was the funniest (considering going in for adult male circumcision). Actually, I think it's kind of cool when this happens - you take an ordinary sitcom, bring on a supporting character who then STEALS the show! Yes, IMHO, Kenny steals Til Death.
On Big Bang Theory, Sheldon has been one of several main characters from the pilot, but Sheldon absolutely and positively steals this show too! We crack up week after week at all of Sheldon's quotes, facial expressions, etc.
Finally, I tried to get thru Gary, unmarried but couldn't. The newly divorced couple with children, trying to make it in the single world, has been done before - so many times, ugh. It's just not all that funny.
You realize this especially after you just watched the New Adventures of Old Christine and come to the conclusion, Gary, unmarried is just another form of Christine. And it isn't that funny....
To support my observation above - Barb steals the Christine show too.

Re: What are you watching this Fall?
Barack Obama has purchased a half-hour of airtime on CBS, sources confirm.
The Obama campaign will air a half-hour primetime special on Wednesday, Oct. 29, at 8 p.m.
Sources say the Obama camp is also in talks with NBC and Fox. NBC is said to be very near a deal. With Fox, the matter is likely to remain uncertain as the time period could conflict with Game 6 of the World Series.
A CBS spokesperson declined comment. The buy will push comedy "The New Adventures of Old Christine" to 8:30 p.m. and pre-empt "Gary Unmarried." The buy is being placed by Washington-based ad firm GMMB.
