With ratings far below even the network's worst predictions, Fox could pull the plug on production for "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" as early as this week.

and take a look at this:

Poor NBC and CBS.

? - how do you find full episodes of current TV shows online, for free?

Our DVR didn't record Big Bang Theory the other night and instead recorded a rerun of another show we want only current shows of. We hate when it does this!

We saw the show available on the CBS website but could only watch a few 2 minute clips with commercials in between. But I know we are missing at least half of this episode. It certainly didn't seem like we watched 22 or 23 minutes worth!

I did find links for online videos from the TV Guide website but this past Monday's BBT episode isn't listed among them. Then I remembered someone on this board saying if you wait 24 hours, the episodes are available. We waited and it's still not there!

Anyway, thanks to anyone who can clear this up. Our DVR has been reset/programmed for next Monday, so this does not happen again.

We love the BBT in this house......

that's weird . .. CBS used to be good about free full episodes online. . . try iTunes . . but I don't know if it's available yet, though. It wouldn't be free, but CBS and Joost are only showing clips.

CBS may be waiting a week after airing to put up the video. I do know where you can get it for free . . . but I got chewed out last time I said something about it. . .

Ratings: FOX Rocks the Demographic 'House' Tuesday
CBS has the night's biggest audience, but FOX rules 18-49

October 1, 2008

Fast National ratings for Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008

"The Mentalist" remained strong for CBS Tuesday, helping the network claim the biggest share of viewers for the night. FOX and "House," however, dominated the demographic race.

CBS averaged a 9.7 rating/15 share in primetime, defeating FOX, 7.0/11, by a good-sized margin. ABC came in third at 5.9/9, a little ahead of NBC's 5.5/9. The CW finished well out of the running at 1.8/3.

In the adults 18-49 demographic, FOX scored the victory with a 4.8 rating. CBS and NBC tied for second at 3.2. ABC averaged 2.4 and The CW 1.3.

"NCIS" put CBS on top at 8 p.m. with a 10.9/17, topping the 7.8/12 for "House" on FOX (the latter show won the hour in the 18-49 demo). "The Biggest Loser: Families" earned a 4.5/7 for NBC. "Opportunity Knocks" was fourth for ABC, and "90210" delivered a 2.2/3 for The CW.

At 9 p.m., ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" results show led in households with a 10.0/15, but "The Mentalist," 9.7/15, brought a few more viewers to CBS. <<<Wow "Fringe" drew a 6.2/9 for FOX and kept the network on top among adults 18-49. "The Biggest Loser" improved to 5.0/8 in its second hour on NBC. "Privileged" finished the night for The CW.

CBS led at 10 p.m. thanks to "Without a Trace," 8.5/14. "Law & Order: SVU" scored a 6.9/12 for NBC, while ABC faded badly, managing only a 3.7/6 with a weight-loss special called "Half Their Size." <<<Ouch

Don't forget, ABC's Wednesday lineup returns after 10 months tonight. Pushing Daisies, Private Practice, and Dirty Sexy Money.

lurker - LOL. Well, I don't want you to get chewed out...he he

A coworker is going to save the day, she says it's still on a VCR tape at her house so she'll bring it in. We laughed at the note she wrote herself - Big Bang, Mary. LOL!

So hopefully in a few days I will have seen this episode.

Sometimes you can miss a new (or in this case newer) show's episodes, no big deal.....but not Big Bang. This was a breakout hit last year and I don't want to miss a single episode!

Thanks for trying lurker!

I think I know what happen with Chuck and Life this week. . . both Chuck and Life were offered as free downloads on iTunes a week before the premiere. I suspect a lot of viewers (like me) downloaded it, watched it and didn't tune in on NBC on Monday due to other shows (DWTS, Big Bang) etc.

I 've added Chuck to my season pass list, along with Supernatural and The Office, due to timing conflicts (the DVR is a dual-tuner, so can only record two shows, not three, at time).

:uarrow: It's definitely not for everyone but I loved it. Oh how I've missed the show. Private Practice and DSM were good also(DSM had a shocking ending).

Fox orders more 'Fringe'
Show ranks No. 1 among new shows in 18-49

"Fringe" has gone mainstream, scoring a full-season order from Fox on Wednesday.

Fox's back nine pick up comes as "Fringe" has so far ranked No. 1 among all new shows in the adults 18-49 demo (with several more entries yet to bow).

"Fringe" bowed to lukewarm ratings, but made a stunning bounce in week two. After four segs, the show has averaged a 4.2 rating and 11 share, and 10.7 million viewers overall.

The skein, created by J.J. Abrams, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, reps the second frosh series to get a full season thumb's up - following the CW's "90210."

"Fringe" revolves around an FBI agent (Anna Torv) who partners with an eccentric doctor (John Noble) and his son (Joshua Jackson) to track unusual, disturbing events happening around the globe.

Lance Reddick, Kirk Acevedo, Mark Valley, Blair Brown and Jasika Nicole also star.

"Fringe" comes from Warner Bros. TV. Abrams, Kurtzman, Orci, Jeff Pinkner and Bryan Burk exec produce.

I'm hoping Worst Week gets cancelled, ASAP, it's painful to watch! And if CBS would think of fans' preferences and not specific ratings, they would put the New Adventures of Old Christine in Worst Week's timeslot. If they did this, then CBS would have a SOLID two hour block, of excellent 30 minute sitcoms. Week after week, fans wouldn't turn off the TV.

If only.....the answer is just so simple. But not so simple on this Monday night 8 pm to 10 pm timeblock. There is always one half hour in that block that they keep trying out new shows, it's been a blur of short lived shows.

Except for Christine.....that show could hold its own in that timeslot and on that night.

I'd be a happy fan......I wouldn't have to remember that Christine is stranded on Wednesday nights and has another painful Freshman show to follow it (Gary unmarried).....ugh.

I just cannot see a strike happening. 75% authorization so soon after the WGA in this horrible economy? No way. There is not the support for it I don't think(like the WGA had).

Well, yikes:

Ratings: CBS in Its Right 'Minds' Wednesday
CBS cruises to victory while ABC premieres struggle

October 2, 2008

Fast National ratings for Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2008

CBS' crime-solving duo helped the network roll to a ratings victory Wednesday, while the premieres of three sophomore shows on ABC struggled to regain the audience they had last fall.

CBS averaged a 7.9 rating/13 share for the night, easily beating second-place NBC's 5.4/9. ABC took third with a 4.8/8. FOX, 4.4/7, came in fourth, and The CW drew a 2.0/3.

The adults 18-49 title also went to CBS, which drew a 3.3 rating in the key advertising demographic. ABC managed to grab second with a 2.6, followed closely by NBC, 2.5, and FOX, 2.4. The CW came in at 1.4.

FOX's "Bones" led the 8 p.m. hour with a 6.1/10. CBS' "New Adventures of Old Christine" and "Gary Unmarried" finished second in households, but NBC's "Knight Rider" (4.6/7), which grew a tiny bit from its premiere, had more total viewers. The premiere of "Pushing Daisies" scored only a 4.1/7, well below its average from last season. "America's Next Top Model" earned a 2.7/4 for The CW.

CBS took the lead at 9 p.m. with "Criminal Minds," 9.3/14. The finale of "America's Got Talent" delivered a 7.7/12 for NBC. ABC moved up to third with "Private Practice," 5.5/8. A pair of "'Til Death" episodes averaged 2.7/4 for FOX, keeping it ahead of The CW's "90210" encore.

"CSI: NY" posted the night's best rating, 9.5/15, for CBS at 10 p.m. "Dirty Sexy Money" debuted to a 4.8/8 on ABC, topping the 3.9/7 for "Lipstick Jungle" on NBC.

I don't know . . It's hitting the mainstream media, now. It will be interesting to see if the ratings drop further, because people don't want to bother with investing the time if new programming is going to be gone in a month or two. . . . .

This is the EXACT date a year ago the WGA strike reports started to hit.

Blah.

I need to read up more but a few weeks ago there was nowhere near 75% support.

This sounds awful... guess it'll be replacing Lipstick Jungle which actually did worse than ABC last night.

Ratings: VP Debate a Big Draw Thursday
CBS, NBC each claim a share of victory for the night

October 3, 2008

Fast National ratings for Thursday, Oct. 2, 2008

The sole debate between vice presidential nominees Joe Biden and Sarah Palin drew a big audience Thursday, with close to 40 million viewers watching on the broadcast networks alone.

CBS led the night overall with a 6.9 rating/10 share, narrowly beating ABC's 6.7/10. NBC finished third with a 5.9/9. FOX and The CW tied for fourth at 2.4/4, with FOX having a slight edge in viewers. Numbers for everyone but The CW may change some due to the live coverage of the debate.

NBC held sway among younger viewers, leading the adults 18-49 demographic with a 3.7 rating. CBS, 3.5, and ABC, 3.3, weren't far behind. FOX averaged 1.6 and The CW 1.5.

"Survivor: Gabon" put CBS on top at 8 p.m. with a 7.7/12. ABC's "Ugly Betty" posted a 5.7/9 to take second. An hour of "My Name Is Earl" averaged 4.4/7 for NBC. "Smallville" drew a 2.5/4 for The CW, relegating FOX's "Hole in the Wall" to last place.

The debate took over the airwaves at 9 p.m. ABC had the biggest total audience with a 7.6/11, but NBC, 7.2/10, led the hour among adults 18-49. CBS was competitive at 7.0/10. FOX's debate coverage was a distant fourth, while The CW got a 2.4/3 from "Supernatural."

ABC held its overall lead at 10 p.m. as the conclusion of the debate and the follow-up analysis scored a 6.7/10. NBC averaged 6.2/10 for the hour and CBS 5.8/9. FOX's numbers for the hour weren't available.

Friday nights for TV are a ton more busy then they were last season. Did anyone see that first episode of Wife Swap? That was a neat one, it was about safety vs. care-free family. The best part of all was...it had tornadoes and storm chasing in it! :) The guy took all of his children storm chasing with him and his wife and got a dirt bike from the car/van and went right towards the landspout! He uses rockets to study the atmosphere during storms or tornadoes.

We caught 5 minutes of Wife Swap, before my hubby played another show we had to clear out on our DVR. I saw the scene where the care free mom encouraged the 2 young boys to play in the woods, unsupervised but their father wanted to check on them. We didn't wait to see how this scene played out......but I do agree, if that was the difference - overly protective vs care-free, that's a good angle to go with. We've gone the stay-at-home vs working mom route a lot, also messy vs super clean mom too. That sounds different. Now I wished we had watched the entire episode - we had at least 5 shows to clear out and watch, before next week starts. I think we watch a bit too many shows each week - LOL.

Some that we still faithfully watch are sooooooo boring. I want my husband to stop watching them but he insists on recording them, then watching them, then complaining they are not funny!

For example - Worst Week. Another, Gary Unmarried. Lastly, Til Death. I could give up all 3 shows, if I had my way....he he
