7N 30W at 9/13-14z - blob turning

#1 Postby bvigal » Sat Sep 13, 2008 9:20 am

Been watching this since early this morning. It is NOT invest92 (43W) and is not new tropcal wave (20W). Ever since Ivan, I pay attention to blobs that are below 10N, even in ITCZ.

I also noticed that same turning the other day at 8N 25W (see "Eastern Atlantic Meteosat IR Loop") topic on this board, but, it seemed to merge with the ITCZ by Thursday...

Hi bvigal!

Let's hope it stays weak - I think at this point everyone feels as punchy as Rocky Balboa did in the 15th round (Apollo, too)...

Earlier this season, I got tricked by a blob at around the same latitude. In fact, I could've sworn it was a TD that the NHC had somehow missed! Needless to say it disappeared quite quickly afterwords. Nevertheless, I agree blobs bear watching, just in case.
