18z Best Track has it as a 55kt TS.

AL, 08, 2008090518, , BEST, 0, 299N, 785W, 55, 981, TS, 50, NEQ

I just saw a drosponde report that had 51kt winds at the surface. I wonder if that's what is keeping them from upgrading it.

Something going on with the LLC position. Sat looks almost like consolidation and a core trying to develop now closer to 30.2 and 79.1. Anyone else see this? Need recon to confirm, for some reason reports not coming in. This looks like a hurricane at this point. Recon was right on the verge then stopped receiving reports.

Any thoughts on why they haven't been able to narrow down the landfall better than they have?

I would guess that the track on this is wrong since Hanna is moving North now.

LLC is moving around and consolidating further west again. More like 30.2 and 79.1. May be very near cane status, with an eye feature attempting to develop.

Well at long long last Hanna is looking like a tropical cyclone again, convection really wrapping nicely around the center feature is a good sign for Hanna strengthening. Reminds me of Ernesto and the will it won't it arguement that was going on!

Not always right. I would say a good 70+ now. Given they way she is looking not going to be much longer before they call it Hurricane Hanna. By 8Pm I would thing. JMO

JAX short range radar picks up storm pretty well. With what appears to be a NW motion.
