Nagin just said it probably will overflow. There are also three ships loose in the canal that could smash against the levee. The met sounds very upset :(

MSNBC just said they have a crew out looking at the ships and also divers. Wow. I'm not sure I'd want to be diving amongst ships being tossed in hurricane force winds. That's brave.

It doesn't sound good for the industrial canal. I hope they somehow escape with minimal damage.

That girl on MSNBC is the one they send to every place where something's going on. She's the one several years ago who was in a canoe in some flooded area, while men walked behind her through the same water.

Those three ships loose in the canal... Why would they leave ships in the canal, knowing what was coming???

NW quad of the eyewall just started firing off some lightning over the last 3 minutes...and this area will probably have the worst of the wind now, as well...

MSNBC reporting that water overtopping the west side of the Industrial Canal, near where the breach happened during Katrina. "Pouring over" was the exact wording. Hoo boy.

Mike Slidel has been getting pounded all day in Gulfport. Jim C should be getting the worse in Houma shortly.

I understand the CNN is reporting the floodwaters are coming over. This is not true. It's waves that are crashing against the floodwalls and splashing over. Local news in New Orleans had a reporter, on site, reporting this. Not complete overtopping, yet.

Yeah, splashing definitely not the same as overtopping. The lake is constantly splashing over... The surge could still rise though, huh.

We have to remember that the reporters are excited and just about everything is prone to exaggeration.

Not sayin' it isn't bad, but don't expect conservative reports.
