Now heres a question, if Gustav and eventually Hannah (based on what it looks like) meet each other after landfall, is there a possibility there could be a perfect storm type scenario as it heads northeast? I hope not, but anything's possible really

this system is not expected to threaten land for 5 days. No real need for recon

Wonder if this is going fishing or going to cause a lot of headaches for a lot of people?

There is a ridge in front of it, so it will either (in my opinion) dip WSW close to Gustav's path or make a sharp turn northward close to Bermuda.

Wow, actually nearing the extreme N part of the Hebert box. Will likely pass north of it, but pretty close.

I think we can all agree that the EURO's run today is rather unusual. Going north and the southwest and then northwest toward Florida. Though Jeanne did have an unusual track, there's plenty of reasons to be skeptical of that run. Let's see if they become a trend.

I think if this does develop you've got to favor it getting picked up by the trough like some of the models are expecting. I'd expect the system to steadily turn more to the NW over the next 48hrs.

Image

Just wondering...

Why does that very small amount of clouds in the upper left that image seem to be moving in a circular motion as if its rotating? (look about a inch below where it says 1mph)
