large trough near bermuda

#1 Postby cpdaman » Sat Aug 23, 2008 1:23 pm

what's up with this thingk

quikscat shows a large area of ENE winds (with patches around 30 mph) this trough covers a large area

the water temps are in the low 80's over most of area, does this have potential to be subtropical or eventually tropical storm or depression.

is that a lil spin near 35/70

http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/east/nwatl/loop-vis.html

another area to watch in the area may be 36/65

nice fishing chart of location of GS stream

http://www.sstcharts.com/ne_08_08_21_11_15_AM_H.shtml hmmm

shear is fairly low as the little spin appears to be near the center of the upper low?

on the negative side upper level divergence is neutral-none

no thoughts.............i should have named this thread

"possible low pressure system in gulf stream east of carolina's" that would have gotten a bite.

thanks for the JB insight

seems like this may want to take a dive south but south west would be interesting

there is some heavy duty northerly (N to S) flow over eastern carolina's

http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/goes/east/nwatl/loop-wv.html

will be more interesting in morning when that energy on north side gets spun around southward

I have never seen a ULL, without any surface manifestation initially, take less than three days to build a tropical system underneath it.
