Yes...Luis is right. Tornadoes are always a possibility around hurricanes/TS.

A few tornado warnings. This one below just expired. TWC confirmed one tornado on the *west* eyewall. Unusual, since they're typically on the N or E side.

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN CORPUS CHRISTI HAS ISSUED A

* TORNADO WARNING FOR...
NORTHERN ARANSAS COUNTY IN TEXAS
EASTERN GOLIAD COUNTY IN TEXAS
EASTERN REFUGIO COUNTY IN TEXAS
VICTORIA COUNTY IN TEXAS

* UNTIL 300 PM CDT

* AT 1256 PM CDT...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR INDICATED
THE EYEWALL FROM HURRICANE CLAUDETTE MOVING THROUGH THE NORTHERN
COASTAL BEND REGION. THIS RAINBAND HAD PRODUCED SEVERAL TORNADOES
EARLIER IN THE DAY AS IT PUSHED ACROSS CALHOUN COUNTY. THIS
RAINBAND WILL LIKELY PRODUCE ONE OR MORE SHORT-LIVED TORNADOES AS
IT MOVES WEST AT 10 TO 15 MPH.

Sure is an oddity with Claudette... The strongest thunderstorms being in the western side of the center, rather than the northeastern portion.

Goes to show that the key word is "usually" in the phrase, "the worse weather is usually north and east of the center."
