It's closer to LA than texas .

Could be a LA storm if it keeps moving north

I'm glad the NHC is starting to acknowledge what's actually happening.

All those questions are answered here at the discussion that all have to read carefully because it says important things about intensity and future movement.Where there was a hurricane watch now there is a warning extended north and now a TS warning from ST Louis pass to Cameron parish.

Because Claudette is displaced much further North and East of the center, while she may make landfall in TX... soon she will begin to bring TS conditions to SE TX and SW LA. That is the purpose behind the TS Warning. Stay safe everyone! :o

You are correct Garrett. However if you check the latest sat pics, it is evident she has or is wrapping the center with convection. Also outflow is setting up in the W quadrant ATT and it is obvious the shear has diminished from the SW even though it is still there. Call me crazy or call me a wishcaster, but I see Hurricane Claudette no later than 5pm advisory and probably earlier unless they are continuing conservative. Recon is near the center of just past it so we should know something soon. Also that ridge is going to have to kick real hard to catch her and begin that exteme westerly component. Right now, until I am proven wrong, I am sticking with a Port O'connor to Freeport landfall area. Best bet right now is Matagorda unless the turn happens soon.
