Question......Steering Currents

#1 Postby southerngale » Sun Jul 13, 2003 7:05 pm

I posted this in another thread but nobody has replied yet so I'm making a new thread. ;)

I thought Tex/Mex was pretty much a done deal after it started moving west last night. I haven't been online much today so I haven't been able to keep up with everything.

Is the ridge or whatever that was influencing a westward turn still in place and how long will it be? Since it's stalled now, what will be the next big steering influence or will the ridge still be there, sending it westward?
I'm sorry if I don't make a lot of sense...I know what I'm trying to ask.

In reply to your questions above: Yes...about two days...another one...and again, yes.

Seriously, I'm feeding you bunk. I have no idea. Just felt like replying since no one did the first time and this would bump your question back up to the top and that way other clueless ones like me can find out also.

Take care and feel better soon...you and your munchkins. :D

Southerngale,

I think the NHC track is pretty much set in stone to happen for the next 5 days. Re: there 5 days forecast. The steering currents are the High Pressure in the West as I know ..... but haven't been over concerned about Claudette - maybe she will pull a Brett and hit the cows in the pasture again.

Despite the temporary stallout, in the next 24 hours a solid westerly motion should resume as a ridge moves into the Central US (all the global models reflect this outcome) and Claudette will follow the path of least resistance ...

I posted a model plot map earlier in another thread ...
